This is just before we shipped the robot. We can hit 10 from 10 from the first spot 9 to 10 for 10 from the second spot and 8 for 10 in the third spot which is the furthest away from the target. All in auto mode. once we get to the FL. regional we should be able to shoot better. it is just in the timing of feeding the balls.

This robot has 2 speed thanks to Andy Marks system.

We index the balls by air pistons. we took a video of the shooting before we ran out of disk space it should be up soon.

What material did you use to cover your bumpers. And where did you find it? Also any idea on your battery life running 4 small cims, 2 mini-bikes, and a compressor?

Great job on your autonomous, it an impressive feat to be that effective from that far out. You may want to try leaving more time inbetween each shot and maybe you'll increase its effectiveness from greater distances.

This is what we are working on. the wheel spins up very fast and keep its speed. that is why we use 2 big CIM motors.

the bumber stuff is the same stuff FIRST told us to get.

No compressor. we do not need it. we use the tanks.

Agreed.

Out of curiosity, how hard is it to load?

Re: pic: Team 61 robot

very easy to load it

How does it get balls that aren't pre-loaded?

Re: pic: Team 61 robot

why do we need balls after the auto mode

We play defence. just read what happen in CT. they played today. Defence will play a big part of this game

we shot in auto then hit.

Stats are:

Weight robot: 119.4 lbs
Bumpers: 14 lbs total
battery: 13 lbs
--------------------------
Total 146.4 lbs this gives the robot a lot of traction

CG is around 8" off the ground :)

Shoots in auto mode and shoots all the balls in 7.4 seconds

the two mini-bikes are only on for auto-mode unless we have a problem then they will only be on for another 10seconds. We have no compressor just a tank for the shifting. And the 4 CIMS, we run four drive motors every year and we never have had a problem why doing a lot of other stuff too.

Yeah, yeah, I know, ridiculous thread revival.

I was going through CD-Media looking for some ideas on drive systems, and I punched in frc61. I noticed along with the other pictures some earlier CAD drawings from this season (link). Was there anything in particular that triggered the switch in feeder designs?

Sorry about the late reply. Yes we had to switch from this design to the tube design due to the balls where getting stuck in the basket
