Coolest team name?
 

What do you think is the coolest team name out there? Personally, I am quite fond of "'da bears"

well even though AFTERSHOCK is the coolest name ever, there are a few other names that i like too. they include...
Robbe (i like the idea of having a robot with a real name)
Aztechs (cute pun thingy)
Pobots (sounds awesome)

erm...maybe i just have a thing for robots that were at the LI Regional and in the Curie Division at Nationals...

oh well..everyone spells it wrong for some reason....there was even a "joke going around" and it seemed like everything that had TechnoKats on it was spelled wrong thanks to Mike Soukup...i even think the Beatty quiz at Nationals had it spelled wrong...:D

And when my team was meeting to discuss possible team names, one of my favourate suggestions was: "Blindly Optimistic", but instead we stuck with SWAT Mobotics (BTW, next year we'll just be 'Mobotics')

Yeah... "Pack of Trojans", "TechnoKats" and "ThunderChickens" all get my vote. Heh heh Some students on our team got talking about the team Pack of Trojans... the discussion lead to what they could give out for swappables... what they could use for bumpers... all sorts of interesting things - I'll name no specifics here, I think you can figure them out by yourselves!

Yeah......Divison By Zero is a good team name........if using a TI calculator....they could name their robot: Error Syntax

How many teams out there share a name? I know 340 and 973 are both GRR. How original.

Most confusing team name i would vote ComBBAT. All the new students squint at it and try to say "Com-b-bat" like it's three syllables.

Personally, i like Who? and SPAM. Simple...easy to remember....not difficult to pronounce. oh, and i liked Bagel Bytes too.

8,500 people cheering cause of a white boy dance eh????? I dunno if i can top that....but I did clear some of the floor that the great lakes team party by doing a slow motion somersault.

Aftershock was within a few votes of being named something like "Woodchucks" y'know. :)

Nobody liked Aftershock that first year, except for me.

Not voting for my own team, and our awesome name (Woo Mechanical Bulls!), I'd have to give it Apes of Wrath and SPAM, I think :)

pack of trojans is 643...they were our partners at philly...we heard rumors about what they passed out last year at richmond as "unoffical" swaps...however never asked for verification...

everytime i hear pack o trjans i die laughing...but yeah sorry i forgot about SPAM thats a great name...so is cheesy poofs too...there are so many good ones...ahhhh :p

i will go with the thunderchickens, or cog squad. i personally like our team name as well.:cool:

I'd have to say my teams naming system for every other team has to come up with the best names, but i dont think i can say them here (they arnt bad, but people get offended way too easily lately) but its funny cause we would talk to rookie teams and they would look at us like we were crazy

OK...now the best names: Cheesey Poofs, Who? (I like the robot name too...What?), SPAM (of course...:þ...and I love the whole Superman idea too!), and the one with the BEST moto: Thunderchickens..."Engineering new ways to cross the road." My friend who's not involved with FIRST (will be next year) just died laughing when she saw that....then I did too! Whoever thought of that is a genius! OK...ya'll all probably think I'm weird now cuz I'm amazed by that moto......oh well.....:cool:

i like spam, our name kinda sucked. it was "bird brains" with our robot "fowl play" now you see why they sucked? oh well.. we're renaiming this year! hah!!!:D

i personally like our name the best b/c..well..i kinda helped come up with it..well, me and scott but i can steal the credit b/c he never came and said hi to us at nats :( but..yea..anyway..i love the name WHO?, too..(wow..ryhmed!)

my favorite team name is Baxter's bomb squad...

TechnoKats and Wildstang are my favorites. We are the NASA Knights ... but after VCU some people thought we were the Blue Knights, oh well, maybe one day our team name will be remembered ...

I like how this thread was just revived from SEVEN years ago. ;)

There are so many cool team names though... I'm always like, "why didn't we name our team that?" Exploding Bacon was one of the first really awesome names I noticed, along with the Cheesy Poofs and the ThunderChickens... I guess I have a thing for teams that sound like food products blowing up? :p

One of my favorite ones that has not been mentioned is the Kil-A-Bytes because of their team number, 1024.
I also like HOT (Heroes of Tomorrow), Robowranglers, Rhode Warriors, Robotic Plaque.
I think the most symbolic team name is 2 Train Robotics

I really like Oswego's (2338) "Gear it Forward" especially after seeing the movie, Pay it Forward.

I'm also biased for Winnebago's (1625) "Winnovation" :)

I like the stories behind the names ThunderChickens and Exploding Bacon. But the one team that I laughed out loud when I saw its name was Precision Guessworks.

I read the first part and was shocked, thinking somehow someone knew the team I am mentoring, but then I read the rest.
For the record, we are B.O.B. as well, but it is for Bucket Of Bolts. The motto is W.H.I.P.- We Hope It Performs.
I personally like Baxter Bomb Squad and KingTec.

I like the team names that are short and easy to remember, like Buzz and Moe. Bovine Intervention also works.

Yellow Fever is a cool name and a cool team. You guys rocked at Mission Mayhem 2008, helping with the event and having such an awesome attitude. Everywhere I looked, I saw yellow. Yellow Fever.

It would be an easy name to work into a cheer that would rock. Total.

It comes from the Mork and Mindy show that Robin Williams starred in; he was an alien and his cursword was shazbots, hee heee!

We have alot of fun every year when we chant our name and the MC just laughs.

I'd have to slightly agree with you as our school is white bear and we are "da bears"

But I do like our team name "PRIME 329" being that our team number is 2207 and that some of us took the time with out internet or anything really to figure out that 2207 is the 329th prime number, me including.
