Re: Who's robot does everything?
minus players being able to shoot balls into our hopper, we can pick up balls, shoot at target goal w/ camera, unload into bottom goals, ramp, and defence

Re: Who's robot does everything?
Yes, or at least we think so. Having just two mentors and six mostly active students we did not have time to build field elements. We can launch balls at about 1 per second at the center goal, dump about 25 balls in 6 seconds into the side goals, receive balls from shooters or pick up off the floor. With 6 wheel drive we are fast and maneuverable and must tip in excess of 50 degrees to overturn. Main worries are aiming accuracy and driver practice. Exhausted, but looking forward to the competition.

Re: Who's robot does everything?
Our robot focuses on doing one thing really well, and that's shooting center goals. As far as ball harvesting goes, we can accept balls easily from the floor or human player.
Keep in mind there's only so much you can do in 40 seconds. Doing one thing, and doing it well has many advantages. If you can shoot 3 or 1 pointers, why shoot the 1 pointers when you can score the other? I know some teams have their reasons, but for us, our robot's eye is set on center. |
Re: Who's robot does everything?
We can't go up the ramp.
We can pick up the floor, shoot and score in the side goals as long as the balls don't go into the storage from the rollers. Once they are in the storage, though, the only way out is by air. We can't get balls from the human player, but since we can pick up balls very efficiently, we're all set as far as that goes. |

If all goes well (cross fingers) we'll have a joystick for driving and one - count it, one - button: FIRE Don |
Re: Who's robot does everything?
Our robot can:
1. Pick up balls off the ground (up to 4 at a time). 2. Be feed by a human player. 3. Store in a hopper ( holds all 80 if necessary). 4. Dump into a corner goal. 5. Climb the ramp very easy. |
Re: Who's robot does everything?
Our robot (still working on the title) is capable of:
(1) picking up 7+ balls at once (we only have 7 balls to test with) (2) Receiving balls through the open top (3) estimated storage of 20-30 balls(again limited supplies) (4) shooting into corner goals with a fast rate of fire (5) defense (6) climbing ramp(not well tested but functioned well during limited tests) I believe that just about sums up the capabilities of our robot well good luck out there to all the other competing robots :) |
Re: Who's robot does everything?
This years robot Joshua can also do everything, however when watching the scriammage matches i realized, this is not lots of time in each match, especially because its not a free for all the entire game like past games. Do you need to do everything? Do we have time to do everything?

Re: Who's robot does everything?
it depends on how fast your robot is...if your robot is fast enough and your operators are skilled enough then yes some of everything can be done but perhaps you may have to do 1 thing in 1 match and something else in another who knows what the rest of your alliance may or may not be capable of doing

Re: Who's robot does everything?
ours dumps balls in autonomous. it can load balls off the field, shoot balls, dump balls, and i believe collect from a human player. it also kicks butt at defending and it can get up the ramp. is that everything?

Re: Who's robot does everything?
703 can do everything...and can do it very well.

That's doing everything, right? ;) |
Re: Who's robot does everything?
1038 shoots, does auton, picks up balls, and some defense
2 teams that stand out that can do everything that haven't been mentioned 1018 can auton, dump, pick up balls, collect from human player, shoot, and defend 365, i believe, can do all that as well (ability to pick up and auton are iffy..memory lapse) and VERY effectively, both of the teams |
Re: Who's robot does everything?
254 CAN DO EVERYTHING!

And we can too. Our combined results at UTC NE with 1124 are the evidence. |
