:ahh: Nice Robot! it reminds me of a paintbgall hopper. I hope your human players are good. it looks to me like you can rotate your entire gun and hopper. How far around can it rotate?

I hope Car Nack sees your autonomous demo before he makes any more predictions - that looked like an "easy" 40 pts if you can do it in competition.

So, where do you attach the precision re-alignment device for after your patented "push the opponent into the next time zone" moves? (sometimes called a slide-hammer).

Now I really can't wait for NJ.

This year we want to be able to protect the other shooter on our team to score more. We have about 10 auto modes 4 which will protect the shooter in the first box so teams do not blitz across the feild and mess them up. Get ready nj the enforcer (robot name) is coming.

We can rotate 300 degrees which is great because is someone hits us in auto mode our gun can still stay fixed on the green light and fire. I did not think we could get the camera to work but bharat proved me wrong and i am thankful for it now.

We actually used the exact same concept as a paintball hopper to get the loading speed we need. It's proving to be very efficient.

And if you are wondering about the drivetrain design, its nearly the same as last year, with a few minor adjustments.

And here was the penalty for doubting the camera would work...
ehh give me a bit...gotta upload it somewhere first

Agreed.

Very well done. I wish you all luck at New Jersey, because I don't think we'll be able to talk to each other and exchange notes.

TEN AUTO MODES? Am I hearing this correctly? Wow! How did you do that?

We plan on eight, but we've only gotten 2 done. I give props to your programmers and programming mentors.

The only suggestion I have is: be prepared to defend and get passed defenders. If that's the only way you can score, you may get 30 points and we all may love it, but you can't get any more because there may be so-many defensive-minded bots that harass you that you miss wide. (That's the problem with rapid-fire that we were trying to deal with ourselves.) That's not enough to leave you in the positive if someone on your alliance receives a major penalty. But I applaud what you've done so far.

By the way, I have two questions.

(1) Have you guys been able to make it up the ramp?
(2) What was your shipping weight of the robot (minus battery and bumpers), just out of curiosity?

We get up the ramp with ease.
Shipping weight was 120.2...heh. But we have 14 different ways that we are gonna trim some fat.

And we have plans for those defensive bots, don't you worry about that. :D

Slick bot. Don't get too cocky though. You may have plans for those defensive bots... Your brakes and turret I imagine. Even if a powerful defensive robot is able to move you, your turret will be able to compensate.... but what happens when they just park in front of you without even trying to move you? With your shooter positioned so low, you won't be able to shoot over a robot taller than 3 or 4(?) feet. For your bot, the ability to shoot on the move will be a must.

Good luck in the coming season from your friends at 1114
See you at Champs and IRI

I think all you need to do is to make some Swiss cheese if they starve your robot between now and....Thursday at Robot Camp. Unfortunately, our robots have had habits of eating way too much at Robot Camp.

But what plans (strategies) do you have for defensive bots? If there are any that are successful (against robots at NJ that are going to the Chesapeake Regional), do you mind explaining in a PM so that we can get a head start on scouting? (I know 203, 303, 103, 56, and others are all up to something pretty good, but how it'll work at Chesapeake, I'm not sure.)

We have other plans, that I choose not to say at this time, you'll have to wait and see. Thanks for voicing that though. It seems many low shooting robots will have that problem, but we think we have it figured out.
And to Sgraff, I'll let you know after NJ.
