Re: What would you want in an FRC party?
will be a great time to show video or still photos taken during the build season and the competitons - anyone have a video projector?
|
Re: What would you want in an FRC party?
we have projectors at our school that we can borrow.
And as far as the suggestions for video games, such as doom and halo2... That's kind of what we're trying to avoid turning it into... We have plenty of LAN parties, we want something a bit different. But the clips is a good idea, we can put together a montage of all the teams that will be there (if we have footage of them!) |
Re: What would you want in an FRC party?
I've always preferred comfy couches and munchies within easy reach.

Re: What would you want in an FRC party?
How about something unique that teams can appreciate? Video games and music are great, along with munchies and the like, but how about something active... like a game of Ultimate Frisbee or Manhunt or Black-Light Volleyball? or how about a huge pit of legos and a contest to see who can make the most creative thing in 50 legos or less? the winner gets a pie to the face! except you dont tell them that until after they've won. :D or maybe find a way to teach us how to do something new and not exactly robotics related? like (please dont shoot me with a poof ball for this suggestion) ballroom dancing?
Think outside of the box. :) |

big beds - everyones gonna be tired.
MOUNTAIL DEW - doesnt everyones team 'Shotgun' MountainDew's when they are pulling all-nighters? The mentors have fun trying to beat us kids :) The SpaceJam song :) -Junx |

I was thinking something along the lines of a giant team Vs team dodgeball type thing. I like that lego thing too... And the ballroom dancing thing could be kind of entertaining. haha. |
Re: What would you want in an FRC party?
LAN Party man...
And none of this little kid stuff. Some old school games but not to much. Break out the projector also. |

This is all about meeting new people, catching up with old people, and having a blast. If you want to LAN, that's great, so do we. Just not at this party. |

Also, I don't think our school, or our mentors, or anyone sane, isn't going to let 100 teenagers have beds...(our team has had it's share of make-out incidents.) |
Re: What would you want in an FRC party?
Not a LAN, but you might want to think about having a Console or two set up with four controllers and a game like super smash bros. That really does promote interaction :) At least it did at the Expo...

Re: What would you want in an FRC party?
On another note, what type of food would you want to see? I'm still taking ideas on activities, but i need a quick opinion on foods, so we can start looking for suppliers that are willing to donate or give us a discount, and we don't want to get a chinese place if nobody wants chinese, and we don't want a pizza place if no one wants pizza. so throw out what you want foodwise, as well as activity wise. And don't worry about soda.... we'll get that covered.

Re: What would you want in an FRC party?
FRC party food... hmm if i were to pick i'd go for In and Out, but if that's not possible, the foods that are obvious candidates are hot dogs, cheeseburgers, pizza, and those of the sort. Candies are good sellers, like the kitkat and snickers bar, hmm i dont know if that would be good for an afterparty though cause i see these type of foods at like scrimmages... but maybe it could work too.

Re: What would you want in an FRC party?
I'd say every1 should bring in consoles, alot of them and we have a very large lan party of halo 2 or some other violent video game. violence is good...
