I was wondering how much everyone's robot weighed they packed it up in the box. Ours was 120 (assuming the scale was accurate)

Our original weight was 124 lbs. we did some drilling and cutting and weighed it on two different scales we tested each scale with dumb bell weights and they were equal we weigh our robot and we get 113 lbs. and 120 lbs. go figure :rolleyes:. We ended up taking some more stuff off but never weighed it again. So we're probably just under 120.

So our field weight would be: 144.5 (Robot + Bumpers + Battery)

81.5(and all we got left is bumpers and some lexan for our spinner protectors

I believe initialy we were half a pound over weight. But after eliminating an unecessary piece and cutting the height of the robot down by several inches (All thanks to a power saw) our final weight came down to about 117-118 lbs. A lot of that came form Speed holes and using polycarbonate instead of a steel/Rubber wraped grate for side panels.

We're really light and thats with the battery. We haven't actually weighed it yet...and it's allready shipped. It probably wont get any much more weight because we're not having bumpers and all we have left to is lexan.

1293's right on the bubble. We were closer to 130 entering week five, but the Hosford-Stankovic Diet Plan (patent pending) knocked us back down around 115. We added some things since then, so we'll see when we step on the scale at Palmetto.

We shipped Francios VII at 126 lbs, without the battery/bumpers ... Better than the 135 we were Monday morning! Unfortunately, we still have some weight loss to do ...

This should be the first year since 2003 where we are underwieght. When we weighed the last time we were ~118, but that was with the battery. So, with the extra stuff we need to add (a shield and a little cloth) we should be about 115 lbs. So, we'll probably need to add some ballast. :D

119.7 lb at ship after being 10 pounds over a week before ship with no power to the machine shop for the final week.

121-122: a bit of weight loss still needed, but better than the fifteen we had to lose in week 6. The Jenny Craig Diet did wonders for it. (we really did have a box labeled this which we filled with any material removed from the robot until the box totaled 15 lbs.)

114 lbs. the day of ship. All we have to add is some side protection (we'll probably do this with strips of lexan or netting).

Including our 11 lbs. of bumpers and the battery, we weigh 137 lbs. right now.

For the first time ever we were severely overweight, at about 124 without a ball pickup, the ball pickup weighed about 4-5 pounds and our final weight turned out to be 119.5, we started cutting everything in sight (including smaller netting, cutting excess from top and bottom, cutting plates, cutting holes, making wire smaller and even accidently cracking the entire motor control board, while making a whole for a connector we didn't have.)

Bottom line:
We hope the scale at competition is the same as ours.

the night before ship... 157. ship day... 124. we have a little more work to do but it shouldnt be too hard to take off 4 more pounds after already taking off 33 lbs.

wow thats alot...you know theres only so many holes you can drill befrore you compromise structural integrity so you guys should be carefull not to make the same mistake one of the members on my team did taking from a crucial part setting us back. We cut out just over 4 lbs Tuesday morning. We still need to add sheilding around our ball shooter so we'll need to find a little more weight to come out.

610 was 143 lbs with 5 days left, and got her down to 119.5 in 3 days. I was really impressed that we were able to take off 25 lbs, the late nights taking apart our robot in a team members basement really helped ;).

team 1733s robot weighed 145 the day before ship but after turning our 20 lb. wooden spindles into swiss cheese it only weighed 130. 15 lbs. of wood is a lot of tree.

So you guys still have to lose 10 lbs for the competition on the practice day? Well don't worry your not the only one with a robot that needs to diet. I think our robot is a few pounds overweight with a few more things we would like to add (our scale said we were 120 but we have our suspicions about the scale due to past inaccuracies or possibly the robot gaining 3 lbs while being shipped)

last years robot beat that with weighing in at 119.9 lbs and the guy laughed saying "cut It kind of close there" (117 when we shipped according to our scale and we didn't add anything) This year our scale weighed us at 120 even so we are a bit worried.

Well, we weighed it a couple days before ship and it was 116.6lbs, but then we added a couple sensors, a camera guard, lots of zipties, and something to protect the wheel. We didn't weigh it after we added the stuff...

hmm...I dunno if slimfast is well...fast enough you may need to use liposuction instead...just a thought... hey i wonder what if when they weighed it we put attached lots of helium balloons? it could work right?

4 days prior to shipping we were 35 lbs. overweight! :ahh: Needless to say hole drilling wasn't enough to get us down to the limit. First 5 weeks to build the robot. 4 days to redesign and build the robot again. After getting rid of all the 1/4" plate steel, our hopper, and replacing plate aluminum on our conveyor with canvas we weighed in around 105 lbs. The problem? We can pick up balls, we can shoot balls, we just don't have any place to PUT balls! AND our shooter is unshielded! So thursday at comp. we will be adding in the necessary redesigns.

815 weighted in at 108 so our field weight will be aboutr 130 to 135

After cutting as many holes as we could without losing strength, we only lost about 7 pounds. Thats when we decided to take off the lexan around our hopper. The day we shipped our robot, we replaced the lexan with some ... chicken wire (yeah, we're from the south). Actually the chicken wire ended up working better.

Some stuff have been added after that, so I don't know for sure how much it weighs now.

I wasn't there when they shipped but, considering our bot is so beautiful and made of like, the lightest stuff we could find, I think it is underweight.... last time I checked, beofre shipping like, the Saturday, that one right before I believe we were like, 75-100.... I hope we stayed that! ::hope hope hope::
