Plus if 8 fields, with roughly 300 teams (maybe more), you'd have "relatively" small divisions... which could be nice... but... i think space is more the limitation. |

Re: 2006 Championship Divisions
yes there is probably room for it but lets think what it would take to make a few more fields.
1) fields - they already have them this year with 8 regionals 2)Field people - more skilled people to run the field 3)field reset, cuing, refs - another whole set of refs for each additional field 4) more radio channels - i think that the IFI system can only support 30 teams running at the same time etc. For every additional person they need down there they need to provide a t-shirt, food, etc. The more fields you have the less time you have in between matches, would you really like to make that 15 min walk from the pits to the field every 30 mins? and the real reason they should never do it is because they will take away our conga line space ![]() |

Re: 2006 Championship Divisions
I'm a little unsure how 5 or 6 divisions would work for the eliminations. As far as i know, you need powers of 2 to make the current system work. An odd number could be downright painful...

Re: 2006 Championship Divisions
Well, maybe the 6 aren't necessarily all for FRC. I suppose it's possible 2 of the fields are used for FLL and VEX. But, I'm not a fan of having 80 teams per division. Sigh.

I feel stupid asking this, but what is Einstien? Is it some kind of division?
