Re: 2006 Championship Divisions
Thanks for the speedy respones...so i'm also assuming that these lists are comprised of teams that qualified, not necessarily going...for example
team 433 won (and most deservedly so) the EI at Philly today, and since registration is closed on Tuesday (correct me if I'm wrong) then they won't be going to atlanta, and thus the lists will shift again...so i guess we'll just have to wait and see when registration closes. |
Re: 2006 Championship Divisions
I thought teams had 2 weeks to register. I know when we won SVR back in 2004 that's what we had, and we needed all of it to scrounge up the money.

Re: 2006 Championship Divisions
Six more teams added today. 1114, 1503, and 1680 are all in separate divisions. 254 and 968 are separate, but 70 and 494 are together. The fourth division looks to be the strongest.

Re: 2006 Championship Divisions
Is anyone else seeing alot of the same teams in thier division again this year? not just from the updated list, but in all of them nearly the same pattern.

Re: 2006 Championship Divisions

I really hope FIRST has some creativity and mixes up the division selection this year. They could do it a number of ways: ABCD 1st 10 (or another number) are in 1 division, next 10 in another, next 10 in another, next 10 in another Geographically: west, east, south, north Team colors: Red & Orange, Yellow & Green, Blue & Indigo, Violet & Black (that would be HILARIOUS!!) Time in FIRST: 15-10 years, 9-6 years, 5-3 years, 2-1 years Team names: All teams with "Robo" in one division, all teams with "Techno" in another, All teams with "bot" in the third, and the rest for others. OK... that would not work too well. Random selection, Wednesday night @ Championships: We all gather in the dome while Dean and Woodie draw numbers from a lotto machine. Numbers go on the big screen and teams cheer. Forklifts go crazy in the pits shuffling crates back and forth. Mass hysteria ensues. Silliness prevails. The 4 Field m/c's are "team captains". They pick which teams are in their divisions, like on the elementary school playground before a kickball game. The last team picked in each division automatically is partnered with the #1 seed in the finals. oh... this is getting fun... FIRST counts up the number of calls and emails from each team. The teams with the most calls and emails asking for assistance all get placed into one division, as the teams who never call or email are placed in another. Teams who call only sometimes are put into two other divisions. The one division with all of the "communicators" has a riot midway through the Q matches on Friday. All Chairman's Award finalists, spirit award winners, and teams with WFFA winners are placed in the same division. All other teams are strewn about the three remaining divisions. The CA, spirit, and WFFA division winners are determined by which teams are the loudest and the most helpful. The matches in this division stop midway through Friday, as everyone forms a group hug and then proceeds to do the Cha Cha Slide for the rest of the day. ... or, they can just do the ABCD method.
