Re: What kind of car do you drive??

I got three cars: 87 Caprice Classic Estate Wagon(9 passenger)
68 Mustang coupe
97 Camry

The Chevy Caprice I've had since '95. It's gold with blonde woodgrain trim and biege interior. Factory Olds 307 underhood still running strong with no major engine work at 170,000. I kept it because when I bought the Camry they refused to take it as a trade( too old and mileage too high even though it's in good shape and has been kept maintained). I might also wind up restoring it , think how popular the 1969 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser is on 'That 70's Show'! We've also used it to haul our robot with and pile people in it to go to local competitions. It's got "wells" in the back to keep tools, extention cords, ect. At local robot events it's been decorated with streamers, lights, balloon animals, and glitter.

The Mustang is used for car shows and cruises only. I've been slowly restoring it since I bought it in '98. It's Acapulco blue with black interior originally from Costa Mesa, CA. I even have paperwork from the original owner. It has 81,000 on the original 289 under the hood. It also has a C-4 automatic, power steering, and AM radio(converted internally to FM). I've also brought it to some of team 237's fundraisers to attract attention to our team.

The Camry is just my everyday commuter. I can go almost all week with a tank of gas. With the wagon I would have to fill up every 2 days!

Almost every classic sport car I have seen is an automatic. Unless you have some insight, my personal theory is that all the manual transmissions were driven much harder and raced, thus making them less likely canidates for rebuilt/restore. My neighbor has a restored late 60s Mustang with a 427 and a manual transmission. He took me for a ride, and when we hopped on the freeway told me hold on and punched it. That was one of the best feelings ever, leaving my stomach far behind. :D

Anybody else kinda like the 1993 Cobras?

For Christmas i got a 1989 VW Golf GTI 16V...So happy.
1.8l DOHC engine with 123 hp in a nice and light car. Then there are the 2 10' subs and a 12' sub being driven by 350 watts. Life is great!

i love it, it's totally emo...i helped my dad replace the transmission. like every swedish car, it's safe and sturdy!

if you know luxury cars, this is as good as it gets for the common folk.
never mind those bentleys and Rols Royces!

anyway, i'm surprised a lot of you have american cars. i would've assumed german or japanese vehicles

An 1984 Oldsmobile Omega is my primary car, which used to be my great-grandmothers car (but she doesn't drive anymore). Incredibly clean. I just turned over 60,000 miles on it. Not bad for a car that's 3 years older than I am :)

Every once in a while I'll drive the family cars: 2002 Pontiac Bonneville and 1998 Chevy Tahoe. My mom won't let anybody else drive her 1984 Camaro though :D

One of my great-uncles has a 1966 Mustang, and my grandparents have a 1962 Buick Wildcat, so I guess old cars run in the family.

I used to have a Citation, the Chevy version of the Omega, which I miss. It was a biege 81 two door with four on the floor. I only wished it was an X11! :D We got a new car and got rid of the Citation at 130,000 still running strong. Some of the parts are interchangable with the Omega, Citation, and Pontiac's version the Pheonix(the most rare of the three).

Oh well, just hearing someone with an Omega brought back memories and I just had to add this post. :p

My brother has 3 on the column in his '68 Dodge Dart. Slant 6, with only 4 cylinders with compression and unsynconized first gear (the car can't be moving when you put it in first gear). But you can put alot of people in that thing.

Of course we've never put 4 people in the trunk.

I wish I had the V6 and four speed stick. I do have the four-door though, and it's a suprisingly comfortable car for its small size. Four doors and no power locks or windows is kind of a drag too. My dad's on a business trip for a couple of weeks so I'm feeling happy with the 2002 Bonneville :D

Ewwwwwww, domestic.

A Mercedes G 500 will outdo and outlast any jeep.

Right now I have a tough choice to make:

Audi A8L with an API Surpercharger (420+ HP), MBQuart Speakers and Claron DVD unit or

University.

Perhaps but you can have three or more jeeps for the price of one of those.
