Well, to resurrect a dead thread, i just got a 2005 Scion XB yesterday . Its a Black Cherry color(close to what the picture is), 5 speed manual, and just gigantic on the inside, its really amazing.

Btw- my school used 97 Saturns, not sure which model.

Just yesterday, I traded in my dirt-brown 1996 Pontiac Sunfire and got a mid-size truck.

I already love my XM Radio.

Woohoo!

GM is overrated. :D

You really should of taken that money and spent it on a Dodge Dakota. SO much more room. The Colorados that we have been getting at my dealership are WAY TOO SMALL for me - I'd rather get an S-10 (which the Colorado replaced) before the Colorado...

(I still drive my Good Ole' Jeep Grand Cherokee. 162,xxx miles, 2 accidents, and one fuel pump and it's still running as strong as new! :))

I drive a red 1998 Chevy Cavilier coupe. Complete with flame patterned fuzzy dice and some magnetic flames on either side of the chevy bowtie on the trunk :D
Pretty good gas mileage, I usually don't have to fill up for 3 weeks. But then again I don't drive all that much, just to school and back for the most part. :p

Don't be too surprised.
Jaguars have a reputation of being disaterous as well and the lowest rated car in customer stisfaction now are Humvees.
Just because it comes with a big price tag doesn't always equate to a quality product.
Truth be told of all the places he worked the cars that impressed him the most were Subaru's.
You had to deny the things matinace and oil to kill them. They didn't break themselves.
I will make sure and ask my stepdad alot of question before I buy the hybrid Escape (never buy a car in it's 1st year of production he said. Lot's of bugs to work out. So that's one strike against it).

I would like to point out that I work at an automotive repair shop with about 10 employees and at least half of them own and drive jeeps regularly. They are great cars, especially the wranglers, which are very easy to work on. I do agree with you that Subaru's are great cars.

The Festiva has potential...I have seen one that runs sub-14 sec. 1/4 mile times (for those that don't know how fast that is, it is faster than most stock vehicles). It was called the Fastiva and had a Taurus SHO motor in the rear. The guy took the whole front clip out of a Ford Taurus SHO cut the back of the Festiva out to put the front clip from the Taurus in. The whole project was done with less than $2000 and was done well. It did have widened fenders to accomodate the wider stance of the donor car. I will try to locate a picture (or several) if I can, but no luck so far.

NOT FAIR!! :ahh:
and i have a Plymouth Neon too.. 98' i think dodge sounds better than plymouth.. its less letters to write anyways. well, the thing special about my car is, it has no power anything whatsoever. no power windows, locks, seats, nothing. no AC either. gotta fix that.. oh, and also the engine has no power either. 3 spd automatic and most hills it drops to second. bleh  and its a 2liter engine too. wonder why its so weak.. help, anyone? :yikes:

and i do have an AC. or should. it just doesnt work. so theres one part of why the car's weak..

No power anything eh? I bet you have power steering and a power brake booster, and you have A/C...your car is equipped with more than you think. I am the one with power nothing...I have power for the radio, the lights, and the starter.

For what I drive:
1968 Gold Dodge Dart...170 Slant Six...Three on the tree with an unsynchronized first gear (meaning you have to be stopped to put the car in first)...what a fun car.

I also have a 1973 Dodge Dart with a 225 slant six and an automatic...but that just sits around.

I used to have a 1972 SAAB 99E (never drove it though)...amazingly advanced car for its day...first production car to have heated seats (yes my drivers seat was heated) and 5 mph bumpers (both of those came out in '72...so my car was one of the first to have them). The car also had electronic fuel injection and a few other tidbits that made it ahead of its time (including wires running EVERYWHERE).

I know that the early ZJs (First year - 1st and 2nd quarter - Which mine is) have a few electrical problems (Their heated seats, wiper delay module, and some other odds-n-ends) but nothing MAJOR with their electrical. After the mid-93 chrysler totaly changed their wiring on the ZJs...(Grand Cherokees)
