My baby

My truck is a 1971 ford F-250 ranger. It is puke green and has a 350 v8 in it. i am turning it into a 1/2 ton with a standard, it has an automatic now, but an automatics sucks for a truck. its a bangin' beast!!!!!

Actually, I was looking at the ST-4 from Ducati, and they don't perform as well as the BMW K 1200RS. Read the specs on both bikes. BMW 1200cc 130 Horsepower. The top speed is around 180 MPH. I'd love to see your Ducati try and keep up with me on the Autobahn.

Both are very nice bikes.

Hmm.. i was lookin @ the BMW site and it says the GROSS WEIGHT on that thing is 500kg, that comes out to 1100lbs.. and its 130 hp.. so if the Ducati is 500lbs and has 117hp.. lets do some math... 200lb person on BMW... 1300lbs.. so for every 1 hp its got to move 10lbs... then its 500lbs plus 200lb person.. 700lbs and 117 hp.. each 1 hp only has to move 5.9.. we'll say 6 lbs.. simple ratios prove that the ducati is overall more powerful.. given.. i got the BMW weight from squinting at their poor excuse for a brochure displayed in Acrobat.. but i think i'd take my Ducati... :D PLUS.. its like 8 grand cheaper...

Quain I don't doubt your math skills at all. But I guarentee the K1200 RS is faster. I would put money on it.

ugh... all this talk about bikes is gonna make me sick. I'm all about classics and muscle cars. *sigh* but I don't have one. I have a neighbour that restores cars tho, he used to have a 57 chevy vett. but he sold it. *lil tear* ANywayz, I don't drive yet... soon, I'm getting my g1-learners, this summer cause it'll be the first time I have a chance. But back to everyone's whole dream car thing, mine's a Shelby GT 500. Prettiest car ever. I love em. *sigh* and I'll probably never have one. Aw well.

muscle cars and classic cars

1 Attachment(s)
alright how come nobody drives any muscle cars or classics. (btw the only thing close to a muscle car in the true meaning of muscle cars are the corvette, camaro, and viper.) i read a little bit about a 66 mustang but thats about it.

now i love american cars, especially the muscle that came out in the 50's, 60's, and 70's. These cars, at the hieght of their popularity throughout the 70's, came with around 400 hp stock. now with a few options on the engine you could be getting a 500+ hp car from the showroom floor. These cars were actually not that expensive when inflation is figured out. These kind of cars are not made anymore sadly enough, but true carguys will always restore them.

right now im in the middle of getting my lisence, and i practice driving in a 92 olds cutlass supreme. but my dad, who grew up in the 60's and 70's always loved classics and muscle cars. hes owned alot of muscle cars (when i say alot i mean 19). he would restore them and sell them to guys who didn't know how to restore cars. the money he made would go to the next car restoration.

the last classic he owned was a yellow 1932 ford coupe (like in american graffiti) way back in 1990. he sold it and if i wasn't 5 at the time i would have stopped him.

So now to the question of what will i be driving?

i will be driving a 1955 chevy bel air. It is a former drag car from california. the attachment is what it looks like now. as you can see no rust, no major body damage at all.

this is what i hope it ends up looking like:

planning on dropping (if we can afford it) a 454 big block in it. if not we got a 350 small block waitin. id like to keep the paint how it is and the interior. everyone would think the car would suck just because the paint does. but it would really be just one kick butt drag car. so i could pull up next to a toyota or honda or any other import and just leave it at the light. (i dont like imports at all, chevy all the way)

In Ontario it's the first stage of a drivers liscence. You can drive the car on any non-freeway road, and you must have a liscenced driver with at least 4 years experience in the front passanger seat at all times.

A G2 is the next step...After you pass your 'G1 Exit Test' you get your G2. With a G2 you can drive on any road, any time, with anyone. It is basically a full drivers liscene (except your blood alcohol level must be 0...rather than 0.08%).

A G is a full liscence.

Quain 27-05-2002 18:45

My dad hit his midlife crisis and went out and bought one of these.
Its real fun to drive... hehe.. I love our new baby..

Harrison 27-05-2002 21:56

There's something about a pick-up doing burn outs...lol

civics

I've just been surprised that about half the responses haven't been civics. It seems like here in Delaware just about 3/4 of the kids drive them.

Harrison 27-05-2002 22:11

ewwwwwww...Civics...

There are a few of them here...not too many tho.

Yes! That is #8, Scott Sharp, one of my favorite IRL drivers. I think he would have won the Indy 500 this year if he hadn't had mechanical problems mid-race.

KellyT180 28-05-2002 20:46

We have all sorts of Civics here.. They all suck.. all the guys "try" to make them different but they all end up looking the same. Body Kit, Intake, Exhaust (who let the bee in the can again?), and system.. the only thing that makes them different is the color of their car.. some of them.. I hate them and I spank all of them off the line and in 1/4 mile.. haha! Anyways.. if you have a civic.. I'm sorry.. :-\
