Re: pic: Team 33 - Buzz XI
Nice looking machine as always from the Killer Bees.
How do the balls in the hopper get to the shooter? And does the hopper actuate so you can score 1 pointers? |

Re: pic: Team 33 - Buzz XI
I like it.
Just out of curiosity, what led to the decision to go with the DeWalts over your legendary four-speed? (internal thought: three speeds or four, it's still going to kick butt.) |

Re: pic: Team 33 - Buzz XI
The first thing that popped into my head when the game was announced was 33's robot from 2004. I was hoping you would use that design again because I was interested to see how you would incorporate a shooter.

Re: pic: Team 33 - Buzz XI
hey it is a nice looking machine and looks like it will be very competitive i was wondering if you guys were going to use something similar to 04's robot and it is pretty similar and is very creative. well good luck and see you at EMU, Detroit, Grand Rapids and Atlanta yeah we're with you guys all the way but good luck. :)

Re: pic: Team 33 - Buzz XI
I'm lovin the detailed hopper, fits your team name nicely :P
We have the same concept on the ball picker-upper, you might wanna cover that up with something light so nothing from other robots gets caught in your bands. |

The robot looks beautiful and I can't wait to see it up close at GLR... |

But yeah good point I'm sure they've thought of it already. |
Re: pic: Team 33 - Buzz XI
Yeah, if you look at the 2004 robot above (the one at a 60 degree angle with the ground...btw I love that picture so much, I was one of the drivers for that year and that match was one of the best of the whole season), we have used the bands before. We ended up putting a guard on at one of the regionals, they'll probably do the same thing this year if they have weight and if it becomes a problem. Surprisingly, it was really far less of an issue than you would think, but they did "derail" once in a while.

Shooter Mechanism must remain inside the ROBOT - Any mechanism used to throw balls must be contained within the original 28” x 38” x 60”starting envelope of the ROBOT and must be shielded such that the mechanism cannot make contact with other ROBOTs. A ROBOT that violates this rule will be considered unsafe per <S01>. Shooter as defined by Game Design Committee: A shooter includes the mechanism that delivers the final dynamic impulse that ejects the ball from the robot, and any parts of the robot that contact the ball while and/or after this impulse is delivered. If your loading mechanism also ejects the ball from the robot, it would be considered a shooting mechanism. Q & A Shooter discussion |

We dont have shielding on it because we wont be using it for this purpose. |
Re: pic: Team 33 - Buzz XI
Not to post in a thread that hasn't been frequented in nearly a month or anything, but your Buzz XI looks pretty good. I have heard rumors that it plays pretty well also. Our Buzz 11 is doing quite well (much better than at the first regional) and is looking forward to hopfully seeing the other Buzz 11 at Nationals! :)
