Extra Bandwidth on the OI?

I seem to remember mention of extra bandwidth on the radio controller that isn't normally used but I'm having trouble finding any numbers. Also would I have to do anything special to use it?

There are more channels (40-something if I remember), but IFI has specifically locked us out of them so they don't have wierd things happening at the competitions. :)

Well, how much bandwidth could you actually use to transmit data?

There are 6 user bytes in the transmit data structure that are delivered through the dashboard port on the OI panel as long as it is jumpered for RC mode. Unfortunately, these are not guaranteed delivery, so if you're shipping critical or incremental data, you need to dedicate some part of the stream for duplicate/missing detection.

There are also a lot of PWM values shipped back from the RC. If you are not using all of these for real motors, you can put data into them for a dashboard.
