Re: Amazing robot plays
the strange thing with the camera the last two matches in the finals was that at that point everything should have worked but for some reason didnt
i have to give credit in that last match to our alliance partners 229 and team 1567 for their key shots and awsome play as well as our human player who sank 4 shots in the last match |
Re: Amazing robot plays

Re: Amazing robot plays
at FLR:
Kudos to our Chuck drivers. About mid day on Friday, we got hit in automode, pinned perfectly between a corner ramp and the the platform. It took about half the match, but to my surprise they got it out. Of course, none of that compares to the "Wall of Shooters" |
Re: Amazing robot plays
I would have to say one of the most amazing plays at FLR would be the High Score Match of 109. Just imagine 229, 1126, 340 all lined up to shoot at the free-for-all round. As the light turned on bam! all the balls went either to the goal or out because there was so many balls going in one area! was amazing.

Re: Amazing robot plays
ff1610emt, I understand that your are excited that you won a regional, and we acknowledge this victory, but this is no excuse to start making acusations about other teams. We did not need to make any repairs on our robot during the entire regional event other than resetting our frame's lexan shielding, hence the GM Industrial Design Award. In gracious professionalism it is not acceptable to say that you damaged someone intentionally, and then inserting a smiley. While we respect your team and your robot, we feel that your comments are unacceptable and, above all, false.
In gracious professionalism, Team 384 Quote:

Re: Amazing robot plays
During the Quarterfinals at BAE, our team consisted of 3 different autonomous modes (our (319) center goal shooter, 562's lower goal dumper, and a defensive mover by 176). The other team had two center goal shooters and a dumper. The autonomous went like so...
The two shooters on the other alliance went for the goal and the dumper had a delay that was going to go for the lowergoal afterwards. 176 went straight out and pushed one shooter into another, throwing both teams' aim off. 176 then continued to push them into the dumper stopping their robot from scoring also. Our robot went up and scored all 10 balls in the center goal, and 562 dumped all ten of its balls in the lower goal. We won the autonomous part of the match 50 - 0. |

Oops, my bad, it just looked like the bot was blocking the view of the camera from where I was sitting. Well there goes my whole post. |

Re: Amazing robot plays
Some of the best play I have seen at AZ: a rookie team, with possibly the weakest drive at the regional (2 CIMs, 2 wheel drive, two casters, kit tranny), managed to keep 60 from shooting any balls at the center goal in the fourth period and forced them to go corner. I forget who won, but it was the craziest thing to see this veteran team get pushed around by one of the newest teams in FIRST.

Re: Amazing robot plays
I think one of the coolest plays i saw at VCU was in the quarterfinals when Sparky 384 was against the Tigertrons 222. 222 is famous for driving up on their opponenets ramp to score lots of balls in a row, thus increasing their score tremendously (this was during qualification rounds).
During the quarterfinals, Sparky decides to play hard defense on 222 by getting up on the ramp and blocking 222 from scoring. It was a very risky play but the crowd was going nuts. They actually prevented 222 from scoring their full load, but they may have gotten 1 or 2 in. The next best thing after this play was when Sparky tipped off the ramp on its side, but their alliance partners 1522 came to hold them upright on the ramp and helped them back on their wheels. As soon as this happened, Sparky came back on offense and scored 4-5 balls in the center goal. Another interesting thing is Sparky misfired and shot a ball into the crowd, which i happened to catch. The ball came right to me! Nice throw guys, i was definitely alert ;) VCU was a great tournament, and the finals were amazing. 1610,343,and 1598 worked well together. Can't wait to see them all in Atlanta this year. |
