I and team #0000 (FRC Referees) are really psyched to be there. It should be awesome, especially if there are fewer field bugs than GLR

I've got a laundry list of questions, but i'll only post a few...

1. Where is Detroit Regional's field coming from?
2. Who are the MC's?
3. Will there be a wednesday night early uncrating and if so what time?
4. Does anyone want to help us out with FSN/STAMP???/SOAP??? at the Regional?
5+. I'll put these down later....

4. Why won't you, all it is is (wow) a fancy name for scouting!

EDIT: NM, you are probably a little busy with voluteering.

New Questions:
5. Does anyone want to meet up at the regional and just hang out?
6. Is anyone thinking about potential alliance partners?
7+. More to come....

Knocking on all the wood I can find, we have eradicated most of the bugs from the GLR Field.

We will also be running a backup match results db to double check the rankings from the main match db.

We learned a lot on the real time and human scoring sides last week and hope to have far fewer problems this week. The head ref is Ron Webb (same as GLR) and I'll be running the field again, but most importantly the Husky Brigade is signed up for scoring, so I won't have to explain the game to the scorers.

We'll start scoring practice matches on Thursday and with a far more relaxed schedule than GLR we'll be able to fix problems as they happen instead of limping through to the end of the day.

Ben

I personally think that is great!
This gives me 2 advantages:
1. Not having to drive on a glitched field (I might be the driver).
2. It gives me time (in case of a field problem) to go help better organize our scouting team/FSN/STAMP?/SOAP? which i'm heading.
?=Maybe

Good luck at the Competition!

Well the First day was great!
The field was very reliable, almost no glitching, with just a few minor issues.

Everyone who is at this regional should login to the scouting system which could really help out your team.

To login you will have to see me (I'll either be at the tables or around the stands) to recieve a team password. Each team can have as many accounts as you want. We will have an announcement tommorrow morning or just see me if you need any more information!

P.S. If you need match video, we have it. Also come and see me about that.

What's making 469 so "tough?"

What does 33 look like now? I know they are one to constantly "re-envision" their robot, so I'm curious what they are doing now.

What's the word on 217?

469 has a very consistent, camera guided, turreted shooter. The camera does a great job of adapting while they're getting defended. The also have a very quick draw, allowing them to get out multiple balls quickly.

Their robot looks the same as GLR, but they've been tweaking it along the way. It's definitely improved since last week.

They started slowly, but rebounded to ward the end of the day. They're a definite player, and in the same class as 469 and 33. They have the best autonomous mode at the regional, and their "wheel of doom" eliminates the ball jams that have been plaguing most teams.

I'd like to say thanks to our alliance partners 217 and 1506. They were having a few problems throughout the day that was hurting their ranking, but we knew they could pull through and they did. They were definitely a great alliance partner, with their excellent shooting ability and autonomous. Also, 1506 played great defense on our opponents, blocking shots and pushing robots.

Our opponents were tough to beat; it was a shame 703 fell over right after autonomous in the first match.

469 is always great
i remember the first time i saw them
in 2002
at GLR
they were so awesome
then we won with them in 2003
they made it to the finals in 04
they had some problems last year
but now
i think they could take it all again
it would be sweet if the 03 national champs teamed up
and did it again
(111, 469, 65)

I think we would've done better if 703 hadn't flipped over after the autonomous in the first one.

It was definately a great event though, our programmers rock. When I feel like moving I'll go get the STAMP server out as well as my personal PC and upload a few vids.

I was tired as hell from going thursday, working, going friday, working, getting home, going to a lan party and drinking like 3 xxl monsters, then not sleeping then going saturday and mostly sleeping.

if you want our scouting results and ranks, you can get them at
http://usfirst818.isa-geek.com

I'm taking login pridvliges away from everybody as nobody needs them anymore, and there is no reason to modify anything.

edit:
it's up and running, i took away all the input options.
If it's slow be patient, I have fat pipes but this pc is superold and has trouble running ubuntu with no gui.
The irc chat, while still being up, is not available via site as the java hurts too.

and if you look at the ranks, imo the best 3 bots were the ones that scored all the auto points via shooting.

Thanks.

When I decide to stop being lazy, I'll lug my computer down the stairs (it's lucky it made it into my kitchen from the jeep!) and plug it in, then tommrow I'll get my hands on videos from almost every match, then have them hosted here at my house.

I <3 Fat Pipes.

Just be careful with the match predictor and the rankings, if 10 people look/use them at the same time, it pretty much kills the server, which is why I'm moving up to a faster server sometime this week.

No guarentee on how much I'll get done, Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion comes out tuesday, as does tetris ds. :D
