End of the day, Friday... Why am I not surprised that the Poofs are undefeated and in 1st place? ;)

And the fact that they have won it every year since it's inception.

Why am I not surprised?

1) They have a solid design, not over engineered, not prone to instability.
2) They have a well thought out STRATEGY for the game and they stick to it.
3) They have experience as a team.

Those three aspects make them a winning team! Always have, always will!

Are they undefeatable? Not at all. Find a $@#$@#$@#$@#$@# in their armour and you can beat them. It won't be easy, it will take commitment and sacrifice.

Now, don't get me wrong, I am not attacking nor defending them. I am just expressing my admiration of their performance so far and my observations.

Personally, I believe they are a team to emulate. I also would have no end of pride in my team for defeating them.

Everyone loves to dethrone the top dog, but you might get bit in the process.

Thx. See y'all there Saturday

No problem! Glad I could help.

254 is amazing as usual, but oh man....

114 is rocking. Their robot is insane, it can move and shoot with their 2 axis turret. I would say that by far they have the most impressive robot out here. I talked to their guys and they did so much work on their shooter. Algorithms, testing, calibration, and now they very deservingly have the most impressive camara controlled system yet.

Good luck to them tomorrow, along with everyone else.

Thank you very much for the compliment Veselin. We are all very happy that the hard work we put into our robot is finally paying off. I don't believe our team has ever been undefeated after the first day of qualifying matches, so this all sort of seem sureal right now. :p

The competition at SVR has been great so far. We have had a couple very close matches and look forward to some very exciting elimination matches. Good luck everyone!!

Mike C.

BTW: 1072, your hopper is CRAZY. When I heard you guys could score 50 balls and keep them in a single file line, I was blown away. Your guy's bot is awsome.

Whoa!
A robot caught on fire!

Re: 2006 Silicon Valley Regional

I just tuned in, would that be why there where no robots on the field?

Yeah when the bot caught on fire they told no one to go on the field and they didn't use an extinguisher so the robot could be repaired.

Was it in the middle of a match, or after the match had finished?

At the end of the match the robot started to smoke badly. The announcers make it sound really bad for 766. They'll probably have to be replaced.
