I think an off season event would be great. But you have to remember the Lone Star Region is big. not just Texas(which is huge) but Oklahoma, Louisiana, Mississippi, plus we have teams from Brazil, Ecuador, and even Britain now. To have all those teams make a journey might be difficult with work school and money. But maybe there are still enough teams around Houston or that would travel to get things going. Great idea tough!

This is a suggestion:
Look under Chief Delphi forums: Off Season Events & then First Related Organizations - sub-forums and read what some of those groups have done/are doing. It might be something to consider talking about. You could start a thread there and see what kind of interest is generated from the teams in the locations that you mention.

How could a rookie team, even one with such obviously talented mentors and students as team 1902, Exploding Bacon, have landed the first seed in the 2006 Lone Star Regional? Why, through the use of superior strategy, of course. Just look at this gem:

Now that's what I call a plan! :)

By the way, it was great getting to meet all you guys at the regional - of course, you do realize that you have to make the trip again next year, don't you?

I loved the dry erase board that 1902 had. It took me back to football, except 1902's strategies actually WORKED. :p

i would be dissappointed if we didn't see 1902 back at lone star year after year.

Yeah, I should probably have mentioned the place from which I stole the above picture. Thanks, Andrew!

Hah! Thanks from the 1902 strategy guy (and former football player and coach).

Kris: My white-board looks like that after every strategy meeting. That picture was taken because this meeting happened to take place near our pit area. Some team members saw the board and *really* wanted a picture of it. ::shrug::

Thanks so much to all the teams and volunteers at LSR. I've said it before, but it bears repeating: if I had to summarize the Lone Star Regional in a word, it would be "hospitality."

LSR will have my vote if 1902 decides to go to a second regional next year.

I could tell that either you had some coaching experience, or had been doing FIRST strategy for a LONG time. Excellent job though, it was good to see people really play on the strategy portion of FIRST.

Hehe its cool man. I was happy just to see it up having not posted the gallery to anyone but our team...Unless you secretly are monitoring our team messages....
