2006 Boilermaker Regional

The 2006 Boilermaker Regional is this weekend!

There are 29 teams competing, and it is sure to be a very competitive regional, last week many of the teams competed and won awards or got far into eliminations.

Theres a team social Friday night from around 5:30-10! Look for some special "Technokat Duck 'n Dodge Challenge" dodgeball!

The teams competing are here.

If anyone wants to have a tailgate with us, we have a few kids cookin' up breakfast on the grill all 3 mornings. Bring some food and you can cook it! Some people may be lucky enough to get some of our food. ;)

See you all there!

As of now, its an organized, unorganized event. It will just be an activity to take place at the social. Now, were in the process of making it a real tourney at IRI.

Can anyway tell me who the MC is for the event, I recognize his voice from somewhere but I can't put my finger on it.

That didn't seem like Blair, it's not his usual energetic self...maybe he's too worn out after the roller skates from last week.

Blair's a great guy. First encountered him in Annapolis 2004. He was an amazing announcer at Galileo in nats last year. He's an excessively nice guy, too!

Well... why we tipped:
1. we get pushed part-way up the ramp, try and spin away, and effectively tip ourselves
2. we draw quite a bit of attention from defensive robots. 1018 knew our strengths and weaknesses from Cleveland (considering they were allied with and against us quite a few times @ Buckeye) and used that knowledge. Granted, they (hopefully) don't intend to tip us, but when playing defense, it's bound to happen.
3. during our brainstorming sessions, our team decided that a high shooter placement would be advantageous. It has since kicked us in the rear, considering we are top-heavy.

Either way, we'll be keeping our weaknesses in mind, we'll try and improve on our strengths, and you can bet we'll be preparing for Atlanta for the next couple of weeks.

It was a great sophomore year for the Boilermaker regional.

Well... I thought someone would have posted these 2 award winners by now...

Anyway, Congrats to team 447 for winning the Engineering in Inspiration award. and thanks for a well-played quarterfinal match.

and a bigger Congrats to the Technokats for winning the Chairman's award. You guys have been a huge help for most of Indiana, helping with IRI, IRC and so much more. You guys definitely deserved this one. Congratulations again.

That was our B Team, if you would have faced our A Team, well, 269 would cease to exist ;)
