That's because of all the dye they put in it.

I thought if a tomatoe is green, that means it isn't ripe yet. So, I wouldn't be eating the green ones anyway. My mom grows tomatoes in her garden, so yes, I've seen them. :)

This makes Carolyn think of a news story in VA. of the Governor not being able to spell the plural of potato correctly.
Back to the topic though: My mother is a horticulturist so I too know about green tomatoes being unripe. I've always wondered about "Fried Green Tomatoes" though.

David.. I am so happy to know that I am not the only one who got green ketchup in their stocking on Christmas... I seriously did... and if we are walking to Walgreens again, I am wearing different shoes!

Do people really make those? I've never know anyone who has. I don't think I'd like them very much.

volleygrrl234 03-08-2001 17:17

Carolyn Duncan 03-08-2001 17:25

Yummy! Is it as good as Guano? I'm being sarcastic, like Ace Ventura. Doesn't sound all that great to me.

Green tomatos are good. So are cherry tomatos. My mom grows them in her little garden.

Carolyn Duncan 03-08-2001 23:13

I used to eat tomatoes when I was 3 or 4. I ate them the way most people eat apples. Then one day I dropped one one the back of a freshly washed, white, show horse and stained a pink spot on it. Haven't really like tomatoes since then. The only tomato things I eat now are red Pasta sauces.

Clark Gilbert 03-08-2001 23:15

Tomatoes....

I think they are really gross unless they are in some form other than anything like ketchup or a pasta sauce which i love them in.....:D

EddieMcD 04-08-2001 13:40

I absolutely LOVE cherry tomatos.
