Re: Team Size?

Just me. I've learned HTML, CSS, some PHP, some Javascript, and more all on my own in free time in-between Robotics, Marching Band (it's not as geeky as it's made out to be), AP classes, and work.

We had an old website that went defunct when the student who set it up left, preventing us from editing it before the hosting service finally killed it. Now I've set up a new trifecta of sites: a true website, a wiki, and a blog, that all tie together and each provide their own advantages. (Note: the wiki was made by our previous programmer Pierce Lopez -- thanks Pierce :) ). The new mainsite is hosted, unforunately, as a subdirectory on my teammate Nick's domain stunninginteractive.com, but for now its as good as I can get.

Honestly, I often wonder what the point of all the time I've spent on the sites is. No one on my team seems willing to contribute anything, even if only text blurbs or news events. The only people who have put ANY time into it are Pierce, Nick, and myself, and of those I'm probably the only one who will continue to. Too bad for my team I'm a senior. :(

At least I learned some useful stuff in the process. Here's what I've managed to create thus far.

This year we had Brandon the webmaster of CD and for the student website we had 3 students working on it full time. :)

Web team size, huh? Haha...yeah, there's just me. There's one other girl, but she doesn't seem to take it very seriously and she doesn't know much. Hmmm, no mentor, either, since the teachers at our school don't know squat. Them and their Dreamweavers...lol.

Our team has one dedicated mentor and student. We have another mentor who "consults", for lack of a better word.

we currently have only one student who made the team website, but he also is the webmaster/designer for several school websites. next year i believe he said he is going to go into programming so we are in the process of a transition from a one man job to a much more sophisticated website and team. www.dawgma.org this is the new page that he designed and every part of the site should be updated and running hopefully by the end of the year. comments on the website will be appreciated, tell us what you think it needs or what you like. thanks.

We currently have a two-person web team. However, these jobs do not function as the sole responsibility of the individuals. With the conclusion of each year, we have a training session in order to prepare future candidates – we try to allow the maximum time for skills to be fully developed.
