One more thing, I know it's been mentioned before on another thread- Dean Simmons and the Kamen Brothers would be awesome at FIRST regionals. You know you've overdosed on FIRST when you memorize the lyrics, find the song on Youtube and try to sing along with the new lyrics!

All I know is that I still have the Chicken Dance stuck in my head . . . and it's driving me insane. :yikes:

Personally I was kind of unhappy with the music at the Florida Regional... At times it was good, but there was a lot of slow, romantic music... which is nice, i guess, but totally unappropriate for a robotics competition, and impossible to dance too or show any spirit with. hyped up music was rare, and the dance songs were mostly just the YMCA, the macarena, and the electric slide... the chicken dance was hardly played, and the same with the cha cha slide. :( those are all the songs that get people UP to move and dance and cheer and have fun... but oh well. hopefully things will be better in other places :)

I totally concur. The music they played at UCF, especially while people were going to get their awards on Friday, was nothing short of depressing.

Oh, if I hear the Chicken Dance at next year's NASA/VCU regional, emails will be sent. They played that song every single day during that regional this year, and they played it every single day each year I've been to that regional.

Does anyone know the name of the song that is a mix of different songs like "I like to move it" and "Pump it up" and "Get ready for this" and "YMCA" etc.. They played it at the VCU Regional. Thanks!

I think that we have a new record: The DJ at West Michigan played "Thunderstruck" by AC/DC 8 times over the course of Friday and Saturday!:D
Also, does anybody know the name of the Speed Racer techno track?

Buckeye was a huge disappointing broken record. I couldn't count the number of times they played YMCA or that train-sounding techno song (the name slips me) during all three days.

I agree that even though I myself listen to some of the songs, I felt a few of them were inappropriate for the competition/webcast. I did like Let's Get It Started, and Buckeye did play We Are The Champions, but only MORE Robotics did the lighter-wave. Generally, the spectators this year were seemed pretty bland from the field. Our MC tried more than once to get a good wave going, but it was lacking.

We need music that's family-friendly, but still helps to keep the crowd pumped.

At San Diego, I heard they played Snow (Hey Oh) over and over on Thursday.

At LA, it wasn't much better...

If I had $1 for every time they played Get Ready for This, I could fill a tank of gas.

The music at the Waterloo Regional and GTR was great! There's one song that I'm trying to find. http://www.thebluealliance.net/tbatv...p?matchid=8703
It's the one that played in this match... If anyone could tell me what the name of it is, that'd be sweet.

At Seattle, I don't think I heard Cotton Eye Joe even once, but I did hear "Danger Zone" twice, which I think was kind of a nice tribute to my old team "Top Gun."
