Re: New!! Quotes Page at khsfirst.com!!
Very cool, I just recently added a quotes page to blarglefish.com... nobody knows about it though so there aren't any quotes. I added my best one to that site but felt I should post the background behind it somewhere...
It was just me, my friend Grady, and one of our faculty sponsors left one Saturday and we got it to where everything was hooked up and we could try driving it. I couldn't remember which way I had hooked up the motors and there was no real "forward" on our robot since it was completely symmetrical until we added our dumper. So, when Grady went to start driving it the bot was about 5 feet away from him and before moving the joysticks he was like "Hey... which way is forward? Is forward forward?" and since I had no idea I told him to try it and thought he'd just lightly tap the joysticks for the test... unfortunately he pushed them all the way forward and the robot when flying at him when he was sitting on the ground. It was quite funny and nobody got hurt so it was cool. I have a movie of it at http://www.blarglefish.com/oldsite/m...ly%20moves.mpg, I was the one taping and didn't get a shot of it actually hitting him.. but after it first moves and you see it bounce backward that's where it hit. Edit: After watching the movie myself, I have to note that at that point our robot wasn't driving its best because we did not know that one of the motors we had on it was dead... it drives a bit better now. |

Great concept! If it starts to grow too large, maybe a random quote would be more in order.
