Re: dream team

2 shooters, 1 dumper....
in auton, the shooters go at it, the dumper defends (keeping other team from any points)

periods 2/3 -- shooters shoot their hearts out, dumper collects balls off the field (saves them until last period, also takes away from what other team can use)

last period -- shooters are defended, leaves dumper open, scores between 30-40 points.

watch for 868 at IRI

How about 217, 296, 522 or 25, 968, 195? :)

Re: dream team

I would love to see 217, 111, and 1625 in a match at IRI on the same team because I think we would have a shot at getting the perfect autonomous mode of 100 points. If only the goals could hold 30 balls without any falling out. I think we would have a good shot at getting all 30 balls because at wisconsin 111 and us filled the goal with 20 balls and from what I've seen the thunderchickens are pretty much unstoppable in auto.

Re: dream team

my personal dream team would be...

177, 195 and 25.

not only are the drive team members of 195 and 25 really good friends of mine, our three robots would work really well together.

good defense/ramp scoring
good defense/high capacity 1 pt dumper
amazing shooting

just being next to all of my really close friends would just be awesome, though...

It would be interesting to see an all swerve alliance. My first thoughts on this (combined with my thoughts on swerve drive in general) tell me it wouldn't turn out very good for that alliance, but I have never seen such a thing and speculation is just that until proven wrong or right.

Re: dream team

We found our dream team at IRI with 71 and 910. First we beat 1504, 494, and 40. Then we incredibly beat out the best offensive alliance this year of 1114, 25, and 33 where all 3 robots shot accuratly in auto. And then we beat 217, 233, and 1272 who include one of the national champions and the returning champion of IRI and a crazy amazing defense bot. We had to play all 3 matches in QF's, SF's, and finals. I think we only won 1 match where the beast didnt make it on the ramp because they are so amazing and unstoppable when they got up there. And 910 foley freeze was the best defense out there.

It has to be 217, 111, and 70, they played real well together . That wasn't a shot at them it just makes me laugh that two division 4 regional victories was only good enough for two points.

I agree! I think we proved that two awesome offensive robots and one strong and fast robot dedicated solely to defense beats out three offensive in the long run. In the finals, we ping-ponged across the front of the goal pushing 233 and 217 and never let them get off a decent volley, pinned them to stop them from loading up, and tried to keep them off you when you were on offense. Meanwhile you TWO were pumping them in on offense and when 71 got on the ramp, 1272 had no way to cover you both. It's funny because on paper you don't see us winning the championship, but I think our balance and strategy (and of course a bit of luck!) did the trick! It was great partnering with you! See you next year! :)

So many alliances that could be formed, so many possibilties
Each different alliance could beat another, so, without being able to determine one clear cut winner, Ill post a few.
25, 254, 968
71, 25, 1114
469, 25, 254
469, 1114, 217
111, 217, 1114
25, 111, 469
254, 111, 968
71, 111, 254 (I'll take that alliance any year ;) )
etc etc etc
