I am watching right now and i can say this is probably the best webcast so far. Good sound-picture snyc and a few good camera angles. Besides that there are a few good bots there ;)

I’m not so sure that the roller blades are all that safe
But the video quality is excellent, I don’t have sound (no speakers) but I am very happy with the video.

[edit]
OMG! They have the match number and what teams are playing up at the top of the screen. So helpful, now if the realtime scores could be put up :p

Ask and I shall receive! wow this makes it one of the better webcasts now!

It's awesome. It's like watching CNN with the ticker. I also think it's really awesome that The Waz is there judging. So many important people in Boston... Waz, Blair, Woodie, Benji...

WOW! This is the best FIRST webcast I've seen, bar none. Love the quality and the ticker. Great gobs of kudos to whoever is responsible!

(watch my productivity tank...)

Cool! They put trivia questions up between matches!

Wow, nice webcast!

The team information and the ticker make it a lot easier to know what's going on. I wish every webcast was this awesome.

Video quality isn't amazing, but it's pretty darn good.

Agreed

Also, there are the random questions and answers up there between matches and my favorite question was:

Q: During the build season when do FIRST teams sleep? (paraphrase)
A: Sleep, what’s sleep? We don't have time to sleep!

And as we all know this is oh so true.

Roombas! I love it! No more field reset guy with a vacuum cleaner at lunch - they got Roombas!

So how come it took how many years for this to happen?

Battlecry had them one of the years I went when they first came out on the market.

But, as for the Boston Regional, it probably doesn't hurt that one of the Judges, Helen Greiner, is one of the co-founders of iRobot who makes the Roomba, and now the Scooba.

Thanks. After spending a year away from FIRST and relagated to only watching webcasts, it became apparent that its impossible for any viewer to know who's playing and who's winning. Any other ideas for an overlay? Send 'em in!

p.s. We upped the bandwidth from 280 to 340 kbps so the video quality should have gotten better.

I don't know if it would be possible to get the feed from the rankings monitor. The sponsors are coming up a lot to fill in between matches, and seeing who's in which position would be cool too. I don't know how much control you have over the video feed though.

Nice work guys!
