at vegas there was this announcement... "team XXXX needs two tennis balls." it was followed by "this is a serious announcement, team XXXX would like to borrow two tennis balls. thank you". everyone was somewhat bewildered....

On Friday at the Philly regional, the pit announcer stated "There will be no grinding in the pits"...and with a long pause then said "Of any sort"...lol my friend and I just looked at each other and burst out laughing!!! It was pretty funny!

At VCU there was the enormous block of foam. The announcements telling the responsible party to get "what appears to be a huge block of foam" out of the stands got pretty funny after a while. Of course, you had to be there to know really what I'm talking about.

I dunno about funny pit announcements, but during last year's construction phase, one of 2024's chassis builders mentioned that thay needed a crescent wrench...and a life. A few other people responded with the classic "Don't we all!"

Hmm, I remember hearing that someone needed a sheet metal cutter at SVR last year. Also recall someone needing a : "computer numerical control" machine. Best of luck getting those delivered to you in the pits. :rolleyes:
