2006 Boilermaker - FEEDBACK to Committee

All,
Little delayed, but if you have comments/suggestions/etc (postive or "constructive") about the 2006 Boilermaker Regional, please post here. We will do our best to use it for improvement next year, or at least explain why something was the way it was.

Thanks.

Well, in summary, I guess I would pull for:

1. More dodgeball!
2. More scholarships!
3. More power!
4. DS&TKB!
5. Space?

Seriously though, the social was a blast this year and, in terms of scholarships, I am so glad that you are able to offer such a wide range of scholarship opportunities. You guys have really done a fantastic job orchestrating tours, demonstrations, and support through Purdue University.

I'm not sure what can be done about the power but I know that my team did have issues with running 10 battery chargers at a time. The only solutions that I can think of would be expensive and probably very risky considering that this is the Armory building.

I know that this last poing depends heavily on the games for future years, but would it be possible to move the field farther towards the front enterance of the Armory? This would allow all queuing to occur between the audio/visual support area and the field space (enter and exit on the same end of the field, but different sides) and, if the bleachers are shifted in the same direction, could create more pit space to accomodate more/future teams.

You missed the most obvious and least expensive solution. Don't charge 10 batteries. A bit overkill don't you think?

Ah ha! So you're the one that put the 10 charger suggestion in the box!! :) Good grief... 10 chargers??

We actually moved the whole setup back a few feet so that we could accomodate better the staging area behind the alliance closest to the entrance. That end was a little too small last year, so we tried to have plenty of space on both ends. We didn't want to crowd all the staged teams into one space by A/V to avoid crowding and confusion of enter/exit routes. Plus, we knew we had less teams so we weren't as worried about crowding the pits too much. If we end up with more teams next year, the setup would definitely be modified to accommodate them, as we had 42 teams last year.
Thanks!
