International Robot Sightings!!!!

1 Attachment(s)
I dont really know if many of you have heard about this, but recently rumors have been progressing about contravercial robot sightings around the world. At first I didn't believe it myself, but after my parents returned from a trip to moscow with this photograph I became convinced that it was all true........robots are secretly roaming the earth......its a conspiracy......has anyone seen any other robots? does anyone have any footage? I am personally shocked. Now i dont think i can go to sleep at night without looking out through my window to see if i am being watched by another teams robot.....

isn't that the team 95 grasshopper?.....in red square?

Ian W. 05-06-2002 22:23

LOL!

/me looks out window...

hmm, there's supposed to be thunderstorms here tonight, hopefully no crazy robots, like Johnny 5 :D

hmmm, I can't say I've spotted any robots recently, but I do know that Team 810 is a bunch of dirty cheaters!! I mean, obviously they found this photo of Woodstock, saw Hendrix's old robot, and copied the design exactly. Shame on you, 810!

Isn't "innocent engineer" an oxymoron? You just wait! I spent my lunchtime getting the "props" ready!

It depends on the context. In some areas engineers can be quite innocent, but I don't think robot building is one of them. So in this case you're right.

Well, the shipping company did loose track of our crate for a while after UTC, perhaps it got stuck on the wrong plane? Russian scientists are out to steal our ball sucking secrets! That would explain the big red star on the bottem the frame...

Grasshoppers get around!

Is Pennzoil sponsoring a team now? I didn't see them on the sponsor list.

MissInformation 06-06-2002 23:48

Well, it wasn't easy,

but I managaged to track ED down. It seems he's fallen in with a bad crowd... an Outlaw gang who specialize in robbing Krispy Kreme stores. Just where did team 116 go wrong in raising ED?

Well, originally, I was thinking of something with sombreros, and when I did an image search for sombreros, the first image to come up was of a man wearing nothing but a speedo and a sombrero... oh my...

Robbe Extreme scores big in World Cup

1 Attachment(s)
Team 56's Robbe Extreme scored big in the USA/Portugal World Cup Game earlier this week. Made for handling soccer balls, the triumphant FIRST robot rapidly retrieved balls and crossed them to attacking US teammates. Pictured below is Robbe assisting USA striker Donovan in one of the 3 US goals. Team USA eventually triumphed in the 3-2 win.

When questioned about the legality of having FIRST robots play in FIFA sanctioned matches head referee Boris Biscovicic stated
"Robbe does possess a valid FIFA player pass and is the youngest member of the USA squad ever(less than 1 year old). Being made of metal the machine is not required to wear shin guards (especially since it lacks shins)"

When questioned about ball handling by the machine, Biscovicic explained "a player cannot be charged with ball handling if he/she doesn't have hands, therefore Robbe cannot be charged with handling the ball" The point that Robbe entered the field holding 20 soccer balls remains unexplained

Firewolf 07-06-2002 19:30

When Good Bots Go Bad

whether for the money or the thrills even good robots can go bad. But rest assured justice always prevails and they end up in the big house with the other cons
