Re: Inspirational photos
I like this one taken at Buckeye 2005. The event dates happened to fall on Easter weekend. Team 1308 from St. Ignatius High School would have missed all of its Friday afternoon matches without some quick help mustered by a few other teams.

Here is my entry... This man is an inspiration to me. He's overcome all sorts of obstacles in his life. It's not what I would call inspirational photography... but I think he still deserves a spot.

I love this one
it's off the FIRST website from a few years ago but I know the guys and it was great to see them like that (usually they didn't get along but the team made them not hate each other so much :)) ![]() |

![]() ![]() I tried real hard but couldn't find any 'inspirational' pics of Chuck. Guess I was to busy taking them of robots. I'll check my pictures from PARC when I get home. This next picture isn't inspirational in of itself, but certainly the result there of. ![]() |
Re: Inspirational photos
Here's a good one from this season.
Our students paid tribute to our lead teacher, Chris Byam. Chris has been a teaching mentor for the TechnoKats for 10 years, and has been an outstanding asset to our team. He is a friend to all teammates, while still being the "bad guy" when needed. This picture shows the respect the kids feel for Mr. Byam. http://www.technokats.org/gallery2/m...serialNumber=2 Andy B. |
Re: Inspirational photos

And of course, the first time 4 robots hanging on the same bar, at 1 time, during 2004 And our flight crew as 1236 makes it on the bar in that match as time expires to give us the 5 point win to advance us to the Semi-finals ![]() |

Senior Officers at the Award Banquet. The walker we designed for this kid with crippling disability. This is the first time he drove it around; his mother was crying and it was just emotional and overwhelming for the whole team. |
Re: Inspirational photos
Almost all the guys on my team spiked their hair while the girls dyed it red and black. Our lead mentor and his wife even spiked their hair. It was amazing!

Re: Inspirational photos
Here is a memorable photo for the few of us that experienced this rough ride back to the hotel at the championship event. And yes we actually rode back to the hotel like this and a few times we were scared due to that we heard police cars near by. Needless to say all of us wish we don't have to go through this experience again!

The picture itself was very inpiring. But this poster-effect that was added to it made it even more inspirational. Good job on both ends! Now all we need is for someone to mass produce these so I can hang it in my dorm room! |
Re: Inspirational photos
This is a thread for posting inspirational photos, just as the subject title suggests.
1. I'm sure there are inspirational photos from the 2008 season that belong in this thread. 2. I wonder if this is worthy of a sticky so that folks know about it? |

Just something I snapped at GLR this year. I dont know about everyone else but Jim Zondag, and the rest of 33, has always inspired me. Everyone who competes with him knows how fired up he gets. I think this is inspiring because it shows that while there may be a winning and losing aspect to FRC it is at its heart FUN regardless of if you are in #1 or number #81. Nerdyguy14 aka my little brother and a RUSH alum working on robot after GLR. Also, did we ever get permission to use that picture (ie from the photographer as well as the primary subject?) I would like to use it but I do not want to violate their privacy. |

Re: Inspirational photos
I think it is time for a little inspirational photos.
14 rookie teams came to Poly High School in Riverside on Saturday to build kit bots, 8 hours later 14 teams left with running robot drive trains and a boat load of confidence. Here is a group photo of teams and volunteers... ![]() and of course, none of this would happen without the help of a lot of people like those below: Sponsors: Grainger and Magnolia Rotary Club (Riverside) Guest Speaker: Yamileth Shimojyo, Science Coordinator Riverside County Office of Education Host teams: FRC3295 - The Poly Techs and FRC2493 Robokong Mentors: Chris Husmann (FRC330), Peter Johnson (FRC294), Richard Sisk (FRC2493), Terry Wells (LA Field Supervisor), Andy Crick and Alica Skilton (FRC3934), Paul Lowe (Boeing) Workshop presenters: Liberty Naud (SMaRT Education), Dona Sisk (FRC2493) Key organizers: Haley Yarborough (FRC3295) and John Gifford (FRC3295) Photographer: Madison Goodyear (FRC3295) Attending teams: 3993, 3965, 4161, 4101, 4141, 4019, 4014, 4322, 4114, 3295, 4210, 4345, 4140, 4056 |
