People who wear A&F, atleast in my expierience, are those snotty I-have-nothing-better-to-do-but-spend-$200-on-three-shirts-and-a-pair-of-pants type people. If it wasn't for the image that is associated with A&F (and if the price wasn't so ridiculous), I'd wear it.

yesyesyes, verymuch so, its the people that wear it that make it unappeling (ok, there are some that are cool, but i'm stereotyping for a point here)
but the prices are off their rockers, and i mean, socks for $20??
and ag, i'm not gonna start on it all...
but yeah, its the image it has gotten...
but the prices are what REALLY get to me,
my mom offered to buy me a white shirt w/ 'aero' or something written on it for like 30 or somethng $$, i'm sure she ment well, but i sware i stood there blinking at the shirt and her for 5 min. then fell onthe floor laughing... they almost had to ascort me out...
but the funnist thing was when i went into one of those snotty stores w/ a snotty girl looking at me, w/ a "like 'ew'"look (all this happend when i had to go shopping for the nat.s) i turned to my mom,
and very loudly said,
'hey can we go to walmart?'
haha, that was the best, should have seen their faces...

but anyway, back on topic,
if these type of people already act like they are better then everyone, dont u think those contavertal t-shirts are a bad idea?
like, what i mean is, wouldnt it just make them feel like they can go around insulting everyone (as if they dont already) more then usual?

Other stores.....

If u guys think this about A&F, are your thoughts similar for stores like American Eagle, Hollister, Aeropostale, GAP, Old Navy?

Just wondering.

i dont know, i can stand GAP and Old Navy, even thought the 'pritty-skinny-tall-girl' ads irk me sometimes, but yeah, i'd shop at the GAP and my bro gets stuff from O.N.
but i dont think i'd make them my anthms, if u get what i mean...

i dont buy any of that stuff. i'm very satisfied with buying clothes from kohls or pennys. i don't need some big brand to help me fit into a group. thats my story and i'm stickin to it.

Brandon Martus 08-06-2002 13:14

Eddie Bauer has a good selection of stuff for those of us around 6'-7", so I stick with that.

ROFLOL
that's a good one!!!

brands like o.n. aren't bad, because most of their stuff is resonably priced, and a lot doesn't have 'Old Navy' plasted all over it. GAP isn't that bad, but it's a bit expensive sometimes. as long as it's a good shirt or pants though, i don't mind paying a bit more than it costs. heck, if it lasts me two years, it's probably worth like $50 :D.

Melissa Nute 08-06-2002 17:01

I wear some A&F, i admit...but mostly i go in there and buy stuff when i have been given gift cards from my friends/family for christmas/birthday or i go to the sales table and you can usually find some cheap stuff over there....I agree a lot of their stuff is overpriced but then again department stores clothes are just as expensive it seems like

I don't have an Aeropostale or Hollister in my area so I don't wear there clothes....I have bought a few things from American Eagle like a pair of shoes which i have abused throughly and they have held up for at least 2 years now so I don't care that i spent $60 on them and a few shirts here and there that were on sale.
I like Old Navy b/c the clothes aren't that expensive and for the most part they hold up except the only O.N. near me is like 45 minutes away so I don't feel like going out there too often to get clothes though....

IsabelRinging 08-06-2002 18:16

Huh. But have you guys noticed the new children's thongs A&F is making for girls age 7-10? Only a bit disturbing... until you throw in the fact that these CHILDREN'S thongs say things like "sexy" and "eye candy."

Now THAT is just inherently wrong.

Melissa Nute 08-06-2002 19:25

OMG! That is sick...

robomama 08-06-2002 19:45

IsabelRinging and Yearbook50...it's up to us women to NOT TO BUY CRAP LIKE THAT. for our daughter's sake....i know ya'll don't have a daughter yet (at least i don't think you do) but some day you may.
what a warped mind to think of something like that.

that really is disgusting.

Melissa Nute 08-06-2002 20:07

seriously, what parent would buy there child of 7-10 that underwear...since hopefully these girls wouldn't be off shopping by themselves anyway at that age

robomama 08-06-2002 21:59

unfortunately some parents just don't think. for some reason some people forget that children are not little adults. they need to be protected from some of the crap out there.
all children should be allowed to be children....but you really don't want to get me started. :-)
