Yeah, I guess Dean is the boss and, in FIRST as in any organization, whatever sucks is the boss's fault. However, I think it's also fair to assume that Dean has several other things on his mind right now that are more important than a FIRST Anthem; who knows, maybe (like many of us) he doesn't even like the idea of having a FIRST Anthem. In any case, cut the man some slack -- he's probably delegated this to some incredibly overworked person on the incredibly undersized FIRST staff. It'll get straightened out, in a time frame determined by its relative urgency -- which is not very high.

Anyway, arresting Dean would be impractical -- you'd have to catch him first!

if FIRST needs something, make it a jingle ! not a fully song. they both sound bad, i would vote for 2 if i had to ..

I have been really Really REALLY scared by the fact that one of those songs is going to be a theme song.
Like THIS scared :ahh: .
Then again, how good do theme songs get?
They usually are repetitive, simple, not much of a melody, no solos or complexity, and can get pretty annoying if heard too much.
So, unless we can come up with a chart-topper, perhaps we should stick to what we're good at.

After coming off two weeks of wearing a blue shirt and made to stand on the field and dance (thanks to 173 for bringing me up to speed on cotton-eyed-joe in Philly), I played them both and tried to dance. #2 I tried the ol' YMCA, only with FIRST.

Arghhhh....

This is the the single worst FIRST thing I know about. I am a bit biased being in an orchestra, however, this sucks. no other word can describe it. Someone said FIRST should let the students/mentors write the lyrics, I say and the music. For those who were at Palmetto, some of the techno music was written by a SOAP kid, and it ruled over this. FIRST needs to stick to robots and let musically talented students (who would probably do it for free) write the FIRST anthem.
