2006 West Michigan Thanks and Congrats
 

I hardly know where to start.

Team 85 would like to thank 27 and 910 for helping us through the finals.

We'd also like to thank the winning alliance 70, 451 503 for making those last two matches so exciting. We would have hated to make you feel that those banners were easy to get. :) Congratulations on your first gold!

Congratulations also to Frog Force on winning chairman's. You have an amazing team. Likewise congrats to all the other award winners. Hearing those descriptions makes me just thrilled to be in the same program with you. Thanks for raising the bar for all of us.

As for our Sportsmanship Award, I'd like to thank all the teams who were brave enough to ask us for help. You helped make this the funnest event I've ever been at. I'd also like to thank our team for for growing to a point where we're free to help others.

Thank you Jessica from 1654 for the "Mentor Thank You" I knew you'd do great!

Thank You to the regional staff and volunteers. I think we were the only regional I've heard of running ahead of time the whole weekend, with almost no field problems.

Finally, our team and the Yasick family wishes to thank all of you for all of the support, kind words, and the amazing applause at yesterday's WFA announcement. To those not attending, it was too incredible for me to put into words.

Team 85!

You are an awesome team! The grace and dignity that you carried yourselves over the weekend was awe-inspiring! I knew Steve, and I can tell you that he would have been very proud of all of you!

Reading the Woodie Flowers Award Friday night ... it took all I had to keep my composure. Being able to ask the entire team and Steve's brother, Tony to come down and get the award was an incredible experience for me.

As for the finals ... I too, wanted that championship more than you can imagine. It was in 1999, that 71, 27 and 85 played in Chicago and won a championship there ... Steve was the coach with me. I had hoped to repay the favor - by giving him one more this weekend! The only thing we can say at this time is, "sorry".

Your drive team did a fantastic job! Troy - you are an amazing coach. I enjoyed greatly working with you as the "head coach"! And your robot is also awesome! Thank you for selecting us to play with such an incredible team.

Team 910 ... thank you for playing OUTSTANDING defense! You, too were the best!

Thanks to all ... I had told my drivers I wanted to be the last one on the field ... I guess I set my goals a little low ... next time it is the last one on the field WITH THE GOLD! :)
