I may have found this surprising a few years back, but not since he & I bet on a match once at the NYC Regional. Apparently there is a a pile of dishes waiting for me to wash them somewhere in Cambridge...

And there is a dinner that Jason Morrella still owes Woodie after the 2005 FRC game played out the way it did...

One of the lessons that I THOUGHT Amanda would have learned by now is that when making any sort of a challenge bet, you must ALWAYS scout out the competition to know their strengths and weaknesses BEFORE you make the bet. For example, before you make a bet with someone about eating a dozen donuts, it would be helpful to know that your competition can unhinge their jaw and that they have been known to eat an entire Big Mac with one bite. Had she done this, Amanda would have known that for recreation Woodie is a trapeze artist* and regularly spends hours hanging by his arms, which are now incredibly strong. As with the donut-eating contest, this challenge was over before it ever started.

I don't think it's just about scouting, Dave. Unlike mature men like you and me, Amanda has not yet learned that you have to hit the wall and then keep eating right through the pain.
