Given that Genia will be in Atlanta yet again, I guess we can.

Who's game for playing catch with Genia this year at the webhug? (Hopefully it won't take Ed to remind me this time. ;))

Oh man...guys, we should try it differently.

Instead of splayed out, how about cannonball catch? Or dodgeball? Variety is key.

Re: The 2006 Play-Catch-With-Genia-In-Atlanta Thread

Genia is me. For those of you who don't have a back story, I'm going to make one up right now to justify being thrown.

Once upon a time, as most background stories begin, there was a castle, and in this castle lived a flock of oompa-loompas. Many years later, this castle was no more, and in its place communist Russia arose. Here, a hero was born, and that hero was yours truly. Unfortunately, said hero was cursed to be incessantly and zealously concerned with vertical height. This went on for a long time, i.e., as the hero aged from its age of zero to a ripe age of...

Meanwhile, the oompa-loompa colony which had been most unfortunately expelled from the castle went on to form a colony in a hand-shaped structure that they, on a fragile whim, named "Michigan". Now, everyone knows that Oompaloompas are like bunnies in that they have an insatiable desire to multiply, and the same can be said with Michigan teams (with all due respect) which are currently multiplying and filling that hand-shaped democratic kingdom with their honorable number. This has nothing to do with anything, I just wanted to somehow equate Michigan teams with oompaloompas and bunnies...

Uh-oh! Plot has twisted! That DID have something to do with the story. One such oompa-loompa was the most physically attractive of them all, to the point where the slang term "HOT" was invented, possibly by Al Gore, to describe an individual with physical appeal. This Oompa-loompa was described as such, and since it was the 67th in its line of beautiful, beautiful ancestors, it formed a team of robot-building nerds and named it self HOT, 67 - "Heroes of Tomorrow." And so burst forth another hero! (AHA! Plot connection!) Meanwhile, Voltaire colonized South Carolina and after a great deal of grand debate and many people having their rights to speak earned back for them, Sir Billfred was created...

For some odd reason, this knight and his two heroes came to be acquainted with each other via a miraculous national postage mechanism most commonly known as Acrobatic Insomniac Metaestablishment, or, more affectionately, "AIM". Therefore, by connecting all of the clues given so obviously in this story, it was decided that one hero and the knight should throw the height-concerned hero about...and now we are discussing this via CD.

It all makes so much more sense now doesn't it?

To be continued...

last time didn't we just play keep away with her shoe?

Yay for the second annual Play-Catch-With-Genia-In-Atlanta. Followed right after the Webhug and the Write-All-Over-Cory's-Face-With-Sharpie-In-Atlanta. Good Times. Good Times. Horrah for tradition.

Hmmm... ok, I'll give it a try, but because I weigh less than 120, it'll probably be more like Dylan bowling with Genia as the ball! :p

What the heck is this game? You throw someone in the air and hoped that someone else catches the person. Is that Safety FIRST?

Just wondering

You don't hope someone catches Genia--the recipient knows she's coming.

In the meantime, remember everyone: Lift with the knees, not with the back.
