Re: 2006 Best Robot Match Ever?
I think the best performance 1547 has had was with 296 in NH. Its pretty much the farthest we've gone in competition and our teams worked really well together. Thanks again for picking us!! Yay Canadian alliance!!!!

Re: 2006 Best Robot Match Ever?
I've gotta continue the motion for all of the Newton Final Matches those were some nail biters. But my personal favorites were the Einstein finals matches, the strategy was incredible, those were the matches that were impossible to predict. I always appreciate some good strategy.
Also, I gotta admit that the match at the PNWR with 488 and 254 battling it out to the last 15 seconds was amazing. I am glad that those have already been mentioned. The drivers I am sure had a fun time with that one, that was a battle of the drivers. Props have to go to team 488,956 and 1839 for getting back fast enough to block 254, and also for making your job easier getting 753 out of the way, they are one tough cookie. I hope everybody in that match had fun with that one. And one last match, I promise, the finals at the PNWR with 254, 753, and 114 which looking at their history were meant to be in the finals, but I mean 360 came out of nowhere, they played a remarkable game beating 254's alliance once with some pretty good defense. I look forward to seeing 360 next year at the PNWR, good luck you guys. |

IRI, Semifinals. Beatty, Winnovation, and Foley vs. Raider, Niagra, and Killerbees
Everyone was on their feet. It was incredible. |

But that aside, it was the best match ever played in FIRST. 138-137, or 137-133, either way. It had everything. Yes, even defense (which you wouldn't think it had by the score). Those bots were just so good, that even when defended, all it takes is a split second of open fire and they can put up huge amounts of points. Autonomous was decided by 1 ball. After that Red looked to be dominating, until 25 tips right before the transition to the final period. Then Beatty unloads a barrage of scoring never seen before. The goal was literally overflowing with balls. Human players jump right into action, loading up 1114 for a return volley, but after penalties, it turned up just shy. It absolutely crushed the spirits of the #1 seeded alliance, but they put up a valiant effort in the 3rd match, but that match was clearly in favor of the Beatty, Winnovation, Foley alliance. It was honestly the greatest match, and greatest elimination series, I have ever witnessed, dwarfing even the Newton SF2 series (and the members of Team 25 I spoke to agreed on that). |
