The Irony. I am studying for my Humanities final on Tuesday over the Enlightenment, and first name on the study guide is none other than
Gali- If you all would like me to type what my textbook says about him, let me know. |

-leo Going to work for two days and packing will be tough. Competition weeks always drag the last couple days before you go. |

Gali- ? How does one go about inserting a Gali- before a -Leo... Not important. TO THE MATTER AT HAND! I leave for championships tomorrow at 6:00 pm, and all I have packed are two pairs of swimming trunks, I think that I am in trouble |
Re: Gali-leo!

Re: Gali-leo!
You know whats sad. A couple of team members and myself are leaving at 4 AM wednesday morning, and we live in Northern Illinois!!! Its about a 13 hour trip but it will be worth it to see all the other robots and the great competition. We are driving because we have to bring the cart and all of the spare parts. The rest of our team will be conveniently be flying out wednesday and thursday afternoon. A fellow junior and myself will be missing the ACT because we are leaving when we are. The rest of the juniors will be able to take it because they are leaving later.

Re: Gali-leo!
I haven't slept for four weeks. That awful nail biter at the LSR left me a broken man. I lie in bed nights, tossing and turning, and seeing that match over and over again. Every time I think Magnum will get a shot off, it gets pounded by 418 and I sit up screaming. If cold sweats were an Olympic Sport, I'd get the gold medal. Actually, I'd probably get the Silver, because LASA would keep beating me up.
And, uh.... -LEO :) Good luck to all Galileans. The rest of you.... well, I'd say "good luck," but I don't think I could mean it, so I'll just say, "luck" and leave it at that. |
Re: Gali-leo!
Fly out tomorrow. I can't wait.
I feel we might be one of those sleeper teams people have been talking about. We were one of the last two to get in off of the wait list. The robot was designed as an autonomous 3 point shooter. We turned out drive train sideways and it is awesome. Bad luck with equipment and partners gave us a low ranking at the NJ regional. The judges noticed us, but the other teams didn't. So goes random pairings. Considering what we have read here, we will change our strategy. A lot of luck goes into being a top eight seed so we will focus on getting noticed by one of those teams. Since there so many big guns out there, we will be focusing on defense. Our goal is to be noticed as the utility defense bot that can score if needed if our big gun partner goes down. Our main task is to shut down the top shooter on the other team. Its not that we can't shoot, we can, but rather play a team strategy. Also, we can harvest from the floor. Top loader big guns may like this in a partner. I think the ideal team has two big guns and one bully. In my opinion a three point shooting bully (us) is better than a dumper. Thats my sales pitch. Keep an eye out for us. You can't miss the sideways drive train and GIANT green bicycle wheel shooter. TEAM 637 Good Luck All GALI- |
