Cool Engineering Links

David Schneider’s Archive of
Engineering Links

Hi everyone, I have to admit that this is my first posting. I am from rookie team 1719. Here is my collection of cool engineering links. I have spent too long on this lol, and in my opinion it is only 1/2 way done because there are so many interesting technologies. I planned to make this archive to inspire people's interest in engineering. Every link has either pictures or video. This archive focuses on different types of robots but the last section has machines other than robots. Please post feedback and/ or some of your own cool links and I will add them to the archive. Enjoy!

This Archive Includes:

Wheeled Robots Flying Robots Planes
Walking Robots Underwater Robots Boats
Snake Robots Robotic Surgery Guns
Shape-Shifting Robots Military Robots Buildings
Tanks

there are a couple broken links in there

http://www.ynl.t.u-tokyo.ac.jp/~endo/icar2005.pdf

(these are a couple i found, i dont have time to go through them all)

And for those pages in a different language, use a translator like alta vista to translate these pages into english

Re: Cool Engineering Links

Very impressive, your off to a great start, most peoples first post's are in the chit chat section of these forums or usually include ineloquent attempts to find their place in what at first appears to be a somewhat scary jumble of information known as Chief Delphi (i know mine was), not well put together lists of important information like yours. Let me be the first to say welcome.

Re: Cool Engineering Links

I saved this link on my favorites,

My favorite of your favorite link was definitely the lego omnidirectional, its crazy people can come up with those design with very limited materials,

Re: Cool Engineering Links

Oh yeah, I am glad to know that I am not the only one obssessed with omnidirectional robots. Which one were you talking about? One of my favorite of the omnidirectional robots is the lego mindstorms omnidirectional walking robot, http://www.bea.hi-ho.ne.jp/meeco/pw/pwe.html . It is fairly simple, slow, but a new design. I also recomend Mechadon, the walking/rolling robot and SHRIMP, all terrain rover.

Just to let people know, I have posted a new thread that just has a link to the whitepaper of the archive of links. I did this so hopefully more people would email me their own cool links. http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/sh...threadid=46776
