Re: Robotic...Chair???

I was fortunate enough to meet Prof. D'Andrea a while ago, and he showed this clip to us... I was amazed! One of the biggest questions he must get is "And the use for this is...?"
Sometimes it's cool to build something just to see if and how it can be done- I think this is one of those things.
And who knows, even the most abstract inventions are useful.
I'm sure that some time a while ago, someone must have said "so? Who needs a two-wheeled platform that and stand upright on its own?" ;)

Use?

The use seems pretty obvious. Imagine what it would be like if your tent could assemble itself! Or if your car could fix itself...

Where did you get it, I'd like to know more.

Re: Robotic...Chair???

I like where the idea is going, having objects fix themselves, yet atm it just seems to be making a robotic uncomfortable and unsteady chair cost $10,000. (It wobbles) While it would make a good practical joke, infact imagine if someone sat on this chair and it broke, you run in there flipping out at them, then about 1:30 later you go "what are you talking about that chair is fine", they will be pleading for insanity. Ah fun...
