Essential items to pack for Atlanta?
 

So, I have to go shopping this weekend for things for Atlanta, and I'm wondering what everyone here considers essential items that no one should be without when attending The Championship event, or just leaving home for an extended period.

Clothes, accessories, things for the plane/bus/car ride.. you name it!

What are you planning on bringing?

Help me trigger my memory so I don't forget anything!

Duct tape and super glue, but only for the things that you break while at Championships :ahh: or did that slip your memory.....

• Advil (especially since you are a mentor) ;)
�• laptop or portable dvd player
• Money for Food
• Ipod, mp3 player, or cd player
• SAFETY GLASSES!!!!!!
• Camera
• any medication you need...obviously
• cell phone and/or walkie takies
• !!!!!!!Gracious Proffesionalism!!!!!!!!!

REALLY ESSENTIAL:
--Your spirit
--Your "street smarts"
--Your gracious professionalism representing your school & sponsor
--Your team "buddy" at all times

PRETTY IMPORTANT:
--duh, your robot
--duh, extra batteries. That's a crying shame when your robot runs out of juice (bring along 8 jigawatts worth.....)
--duh, your knee pads to grovel when borrowing parts and tools from other teams since you forgot everything at home
--clothing; like lots of layers since it could be 30-80 degrees (F that is)
--safety-consciousness all the way around (not just in the pits)

SOMEWHAT IMPORTANT:
--your toothbrush

FOR EVERYTHING ELSE:
--there's begging and borrowing
or mastercard!

batteries... extra batteries... never know when they will come in handy! :)

Advil/Tylenol
Gatorade/Instant Lemonade mix
Gum (I go through a pack a day at least)
Layerable clothing (Friday is hot and saturday snow)
Common sense skills
Sense of humility and humanity
A weeks worth of sleep

no walkie Talkies, as they are prohibited (as far as I know) but cellphones are great.

Let's see:
Laptop (w/wireless card if applicable)
cloths
Duct Tape
Cell Phones
SPARE PARTS!
dry-erase board (W/MARKERS!)
Tools
Money (Cash,Check, and/or Credit Card)
Team Shirt(S)
Giveaways
Movies (Season Collections seem to be great, expecially "Family Guy" and "The Simpsons")
AC/DC Power converter (if applicable)
BATTERYS!
Camera
SAFETY GLASSES

last but not least...

Only in the pits and the field area. If you want, you can use them for team communication outside the event.

One more thing I need to add to this list is your CD webhug raffle ticket.

Don't forget that!!! (I say this cause I just found mine lol )

at least one of those collapsing chairs for the pit. Having a nice chair in your pit area is priceless (esp when you are working on your code).

1. Safety Glasses definitely! I'm very picky about safety glasses so i bring my own.
2. Leatherman/ similar device...

this year i think im going to have to leave my leatherman home... I don't want to check a bag and I'm traveling alone. Which reminds me! Make sure you remind everyone to not try to get on a plane with one! :rolleyes:
