Good Morning America

There MIGHT be a few FIRST teams from the NYC metro area featured on Good Morning America on the morning of Saturday, April 29th broadcast from Times Square. These will be teams who didn't make the trip to Championships this year, so have their robot to demonstrate. The final decision hasn't been made yet by the show. They are reviewing the teams volunteering.
Good Morning America will also have a correspondent at the Championship.

P.S. Just not while he's holding my laptop please.

(memo to self: pack a towel for wayward teammates - but any good Hitchhiker should have one)

ROFLMAO, reminds me of one of the classic 116 stories. In 2001 (I think, not positive), a few students decided to soak my dad with supersoakers at our hotel in orlando during the National event (back then it was nationals, and in orlando :p ). He decided to get revenge by running into his room, opening his laptop bag, and then walking out pronouncing it dead. He then guilt tripped the students, who were very shocked and upset, for hours about destroying government property (the laptop was actually owned by NASA). Only later did they find out the laptop was in full working order. :yikes:

As far as I know, the Good Morning America is happening. Somewhere from 3-5 teams will be there, building a field in the studio or in Times Square (depending on weather), and showing off their robots. My team has been working hard to fix up the robot from regionals to attend. Be sure to tune in everyone!

I'm curious as to what other teams will be there... anyone know?

You need to practice your storytelling skills and fact checking Sean.

I got an email saying that Team 1597 will be on Good Morning America next Sat. 4/29. FIRST will have a field set up in Times Square.

Long Island will be represented by the SBPLI Regional Finalist teams 329 and 353, with 270 on stand-by as a backup.

everyone on my team will be in Atlanta, but I love to see promotions like this. Anyone able to record it? I'm thinking it would be against the law to host the video on a private website.

I was thinking FIRST could host the video during opening sermonizes on SAT.

Re: Good Morning America

At the suggestion of Jenny Beatty, Senior FIRST mentor of Maryland and DC Metro, robotics teams from the NY/LI/NJ area will be on Good Morning America
this Saturday, April 29, 2006. The teams are:

56 Bound Brook "Robbe Xtreme"
303 Bridgewater-Raritan HS "Panther Robotics"
329 Patchogue-Medford
353 Plainview-Old Bethpage "Pobots"
694 Stuyvesant HS "StuyPulse"
1597 IBM/NASA/Verizon Bronx Aerospace Academy HS "Blue Falcons"
1676 Pascack Valley Regional HS "The Pascack Pioneers"

If you are in the NYC area this weekend, GMA is usually shot in Times Square so be there early and cheer us on.

The above teams will be demonstrating this years game.

Hope to see you there.

Take Care

I did not suggest these teams, nor would it be my place to. You cut and pasted this wrong. I just suggested to Stacy that she post the teams on CD.

Paul Kloberg, NJ Senior Mentor has been working very hard on setting this up, along with lots of others.
