that show is, well, scary. not like, i run to my room when i see it, but the kind of scary like, wow, these kids are watching this stuff when they're this young.

Family Guy is a good show too.

Invader ZIM is so funny! It's shway! It's got aliens and robot battles and dark humor! Shwayness!

ok i heard of this invader zim show from a friend of mine who is obsessed w/ it. he made it sound interesting and i was wondering what channel this show was on.

Temporal doom!

Invader Zim is about an inept alien invader who is trying to take over earth. It's acutally very very funny, although i agree thats its not quite a kiddie show. You have to see it to really understand it. Probably the best show on nick.

I don't understand all of your obsessions with invader zim. Everybody knows that Simpsons and Family Guy are the best cartoons ever.

Sounds a bit like Pinky and the Brain, minus the whole mouse part. Is it anything like that, cause Pinky and the Brain rocked.

i'd have to say that the best show on nick is spongebob squarepants. he is hillarious. but the best show of ALL time is the Simpsons

Oh god yes. Invader Zim and Spongebob Squarepants are the only worthwhile shows left on Nickelodeon. That channel is slowly dying off. "Slime Time Live"? I want Stick Stickly back!

But as for the best show ever, I'm going to have to have to go with The Osbournes. That show is just... pure glee. :D

Ok, yes this show isn't for kids really. I think Nick understands this too as it is on in the "Totally Twisted Telly" block. There is alot of humor that i don't think 10 year olds would get. I find it very very funny. "I saw a squirrel and it was going like this *Making squirrel noises and holding my hands up to my mouth*" and "I want to be a mongoose!" are very funny lines. Alot of the show is pretty dark and semi depressing, like how gazz and dibb's dad (dr. proton or something) doesn't really act like their father ( reference to the episode when dibb had to get a permission slip signed.). This show should probably be on MTV. It would probably do better. You all have to see it before you make a decision on it, but i think its funny

ROCKO!!! Everyone loves Rocko's Modern Life... Now THAT has alot of humor that 10 year olds don't get!

wow...some other people who actually like the mole too! the mole is up there in my favorites category with: law and order, the practice, alias, and trading spaces. These shows which encompass my dream jobs...lawyer, cia agent, or martha stewart (pre-insider trading scandal of course). As you can tell I'm a multifaceted person.

Invader Zim is a great show, I find it quite hillarious, right there with Spongebob Squarepants, which has unfortunately been 'cancelled' after this last season. The creator is just going to work on something else, but there will be a spongebob movie :) :)

i dont understand this obsession with cartoons. sure, they can be funny at first and yes, they do mock the imperfection of reality but dont they get boring after a while? even the simpsons has gotten boring recently and i spend most of my time away from the tv anyway. the only show that i have a special loyalty to is junkyard wars, and ive tried to audition but you have to be 18. now that i think of it i might start a new thread...

Cartoons are the best kind of show. They usually are the most creative and stylistic since the creators don't have to worry about special effects or actors or how to do an effect in real life. Everything is drawn.

Not many people will know what I'm talking about, but I think that anime is the best kind of cartoons. Animes are cartoons from Japan. They have better storylines then American cartoons and have an actual meaning, there are not just comedy. Some are very serious most of the time and do not have much comedy. The best animes are Evangelion (serious storyline, not alot of comedy), Love Hina (a romontic comedy), and Serial Experiment: Lain (still not sure about this one, it has a very complicated storyline). You can't find anything like those shows in America.
But when I am looking for pure comedy Simpsons is the best followed by Spongebob.

Though I wouldn't classify anime as cartoons, I agree that anime is very cool. Serial Experiments: Lain is possibly my favorite anime, along with Cowboy Bebop.

Even though it's very adult oriented, you might consider checking out a series called Aeon Flux. It used to be a series of shorts on MTV's late show, Liquid Television. You can still find tapes of Aeon Flux around, and I doubt it's very expensive. Check out some used video stores, in the anime section. Very cool and trippy stuff...

Two shows that I think are pretty good are Secrets of the Dead and Scientific American Frontiers, both on PBS. Secrets is all about forensic archaeology, which is some pretty cool stuff. And SAF is all about, well, cutting-edge technology, and it's hosted by Alan Alda. I just can't find them on T.V. anymore...shame. Anyway, there's Law & Order, West Wing, and The Agency. Oh, and Who's Line.

i never watched either of those shows. i have never even heard of punky brewster :confused:

Batman Beyond is good. At first I thought it was going to be a stupid Batman rip-off, but I watched it, and it's really shway.

Yes, SAF is great. Local PBS stations leave it out of the lineup too much lately. So while I'm waiting I'll watch MST3K.

I hear that. Anime ROX. However, I also am a big fan of American cartoons such as Invader Zim and Megas XLR. Favorite Anime would be Evangalion, Bebop, and Inuyasha. Note the Avatar.
