Joke was they were going to change the target light colors several times during each match: red, blue, green, flashing, etc.

Re: EINSTEIN

First of all, I totally fell for it. But then, I wondered if they would do it next year. I started a thread thinking about that, because he said it was totally possible... and I think those twelve teams could do it, but some teams had trouble finding green vs. white so I don't know.

Next, I also googled first and purple rhinocerous =P

Finally, personally, I'm rooting on Newton. 25 is our mentors and an amazing team and having won two regionals I would like to see it happen.

It'll be an amazing set of matches though, I have no doubt about that! Can't wait to see it play out to the end!

I've noticed more and more rookie teams mentored by either former students that are now college students or relocated mentors. There was a time when one usually dismissed or discounted how successful a rookie team could be (I know it sounds bad) - but thats definitely not the case anymore which is awesome that not only is FIRST growing new teams but growing new successful teams which will stick around for a while.

I totally agree, match two, they let the other team take 34 points in Autonomous to come back at them when 72 points worth of 3 pointers during their offensive period! they totally earned those two wins ((the 2nd one crushing more than the first))

Newton vs. Archimedes - I'm excited... this will be an AMAZING FINAL! ::excited!::

I'm thinking it was intentional. That way they can fire all 10 balls at alot closer to 100% accuracy, as apposed to the heavily defended autonomous, which they hadn't hit nearly as many in.

217 vs 25 (no offense any of the other outstandinly powerful teams), a match-up I have wanted to see sense 217 won Detroit. This could be quite amazing, the best 2 human loaded-only bots.

I'm pretty sure that's the case, because they set 25, who can definately score during autonomous, on a defensive autonomous as opposed to their normal shooting. Actually... now that I think about it, I believe they had all three doing defensive autonomouses...

'fraid not... wow, Archimedes shut them down! That was unexpected, at least for me.

Wow Einstein was amazing and the quality of the bots was inspiring as well. However one of best moment of nationals was when 296 threw a chain off there shooter and couldn't fix it because no one had a master link on there championship alliance so the alliance they were playing against 25,195 and 968 gave them one and the show went on. 296 ends up winning. To add to this at the end Paul from 217 congratulated his team and alliance and then immediately ran over to thank the opposing alliance and to give them a word of encouragement, as 217 lost last year in the finals on Einstein so they have been there before. Random things like that are much better then watching any robot or robot alliance in my opinion. GO FIRST!

Re: EINSTEIN

I dont know. I think our alliance still could have been the best. We won the first match against 25's alliance. Then we lost the 2nd two matches because our shooter wasnt working. We average as a team, team 1126, 55 points a match. And the score of the 2nd match only came down to 30 points and we didn't score at all. But whatever, its all good. We have won 2 divisional championships at Nationals in two years. I am very proud.

I was cheering for you guys. Mainly cause you had 177, but I remember you guys from the past Buckeye and FLRs. I'd say just winning 2 divisionals in a row is cause for major celebration!

Actually, team 195 burnt out some of their drive CIM's on Einstein, in addition to wrecking their tread. I believe they replaced the tread in time for their matches, though the CIM's did stop them from ramping.

we went down fighting to the end. Thats the best we can do. No regrets

I hope we gave everybody a few heart attacks along the way. I'm gonna start breathing again now.

This is true, my team (195) lost our 2nd CIM in our left transmission which didn't allow us to get up onto the ramp at the end of that round, unfortunate but we tried our best =P

The CIM also stopped us from moving pretty much the enitre match, if we were at 100% we could have gathered more balls, and done a lot more, but I have no regrets defiantly the best nats ever
