when you realize that if a freshman was in FRC when it first started, and had a child at the age of 21, then in two years that child will be old enough for FRC and then you have the first FIRST generation that's have it's first FIRST generation. :ahh: when you want to grow up and run a FRC regional event. |

When you are watching people do a bungee run (race for object) at the team social and you do the following:
--call a lane violation (<G22>) when one guy goes from the right lane over the divider --call a card for aggressive play when a wrestling match starts because of that --turn to a ref you know and ask him where his cards are. And then you do something similar while watching sumo wrestling at the same social. |

When it's 1am the night before the Saturday of a regional and even though I really need the sleep I can't tear myself away from CD.
When your team does the usual gag and has the Pit Admin announce a fake tool request - in this case a metric crescent wrench - and you actually get one. Yes, we really got a metric crescent wrench. It was a bona fide crescent wrench marked with "250mm" (presumably the length). Team 1072, you guys are amazing. |

You take your lappy to work so you can watch the regionals and end up with three dump trucks waiting for you to get your samples from them cause you didn't want to miss the action of a match. :eek:

you conga line around the field and count the length of time that you were in line in points (depending on which alliance side you started on)(your not in hybrid)
you have stayed up till 3 am on CD, with your driver, and head scouter, (my self engineer) and laughed your head off at some of the stuff people post here |

When your at the end of your last year, your going to college next year, then after college FIRST will decide where you will move to =P. So you can ether be part of a team or start a team. FIRST = Life

-You're EXCITED about scrubbing the floor of the machine room (since it's a good excuse to "smell like robotics" for a good 3 weeks xD)
-The entire dentist's office knows about your upcoming competition, and all of the employees wish you good luck -What starts as a normal, non-robotics conversation always ends as a robotics conversation -After spending an entire regional in the pit, you know what box each tool is in when you get back home. Someone can ask where the wrenches are, and you'll just yell "Box 9" over your shoulder without thinking. Same goes for wheel treads, drill bit indexes, pneumatics, and whatever else went to comp. with the team. |

After the first day of the Wisconsin regional, Pit admin would just say, "Have you asked 1730 for it yet? They have everything." (Thank you for all the tools btw ^_^) |

-You somehow skip lunch while working on the robot at a regional, and don't realize until dinner. You're not even hungry
-You don't realize that the awards ceremony has started until someone yells "1189 just won imagery". You drop your wrenches, run/walk out of the pits, and enter the arena as the last mentor gives the first judge a high-five, so you run out onto the field, safety glasses, greasy hands, and all. -Your ankle, which was already screwed up prior to kickoff, is now incredibly sore from doing the Cotton-Eye Joe twice in one day. -You don't realize what effect that green Safety Captain badge (and the neon-yellow Safety Captain vest, for those of you who saw it at GLR :D ) has had on you until you start yelling at your brothers for comitting safety violations. -You got home from the regional over an hour ago, and you're still wearing everything that you wore to the competition--including your safety glasses, face paint, and SC badge. -You feel like you're still wearing your safety glasses, even though you took them off 3 hours ago -You talk about gracious professionalism for a few minutes while eating dinner at Subway--yet, the beginning of the conversation was spurred by a straw wrapper. -You've lost the ability to speak quietly after yelling "ROBOT COMING THROUGH! ROOOOOBOTTTTT!," and yelling over the sounds of drilling and hammering for who knows how many hours -You didn't lose your voice until after the competition |

Speaking of robot weight...
The weight of your robot is equal to your team number, and it has been for the past 3 years (it weighed 118.9!), so when you get the robot re-weighed at GLR and it only weighs 118.2, your mentor says "Ok, we've gotta find something that is functional/legal that weighs seven tenths of a pound! -He promptly starts looking through your pit for something that actually does weigh .7lbs |

(Hee hee Katie!!) ...You know you're not going to be able to function normally till about May, when Atlanta is over. |

Well, Brian from 2046 was our (Drive and Pit Crew's) main target in tacoma. He would immediately turn around and check anything that we could clamp.
During the finals we clamped him and let him know that it was because we picked him, and he wore that clamp for the rest of the finals. After we had won, he came up to a bunch of us and said that he was not planning on giving it back, being clamped with a lucky clamp was a good thing. So Brian if you read this....I will find you in Atlanta...if you don't already have that clamp on you...watch out...you will.... |

-instead of taking notes in lecture you end up with 5 pages of FIRST and team logos -the best part of your week was when they announced the Atlanta divisions -you check Chief Delphi at least once an hour -every conversation leads to robotics -When you have a firefox window just for robotics websites open 24/7 -when you are late to class because you had to Reply to a Thread in Chief Delphi (already 10 mins late) @_@ |
