When you see the license plate "FRC FAN" and get really excited. After numerous failed attempts at picture taking while at the stoplight you follow them into a gas station and ask if they would mind you taking a picture.
(the guy had no idea what FIRST was, so he thought I was a smidge creepy. soooo worth it!!)

When you get goosebumps just thinking about kickoff.

When you jump up and down and commence screaming when you find out you are registered for Championships this year.

When you get overly excited explaining FIRST to the freshman on the team, and begin to scare them a little.

You scream with glee every time you see an Airtrax in the latest Star Trek movie.

You notice the number of medals Australia currently has in the 2010 Commonwealth games equals a team number! (121)

...you see this quote: http://notalwaysright.com/drive-hoo/7015
and immediately look up team 1209 to see whether that team is in that area.

When you see the following problem in your math book during class and instantly think "FIRST"

The number T of teams that have participated in a robot-building competition for high school students can be modeled by T(x)=(7.51x^2)-(16.4x)+35, 0 is less than or equal to x, x is less than or equal to 9, where x is the number of years since 1992. for what years was the number of teams greater than 100?

(bonus points to whoever solves it)

I know the answer.

Spoiler for The Answer:
42...Oh, wait, wrong answer.
Spoiler for Real answer:
Any year after Year 4, or any year beyond 1996.

The real question is, is that an accurate function for FRC?

How many teams did we have during last years competition? According to this function we would have 2173.

If math books know FIRST, the government can't be far behind:D Where is the secretary of education?

Hello nerds,
look at your robot, now back to me, now back to your robot, now back to me! sadly, it isnt me, but if it stopped using ladies scented robot wash and switched to WD-40 it could smell like me. look down, back up, where are you, your at the arena with the man your robot could smell like. whats in your hand, back at me, i have it. its an oyster with that tool you love. look again, the tool is now nuts and bolts. anything is possibe when your man smells like WD-40 and not a lady. im on a bus

That would totally be awesome. I downloaded the original off of Youtube after the first time I saw it on TV. (Firefox is awesome for things like that.) Anyone need a transcript of the original?

In the 2010 season I forgot where the bus is going to be so I missed it and just showed up for the brainstorming session when the team got back. Maybe I will make it in 2011. I don't like how usually if you miss the live webcast there's usually no video you could download. Internet went down while watching the Championship :/
