That actually happened to me, :ahh: i walked up to a girl in yellow and literally screamed "Hi nice to meet you I'm from the Dragons team 1991".
Needless to say she looked at me weirdly :confused: the ran away.

I've done that...it wasn't at a robotics function, but it was with robotics people :D And also at an engineering camp...there was a pretty neat drink machine that did that. IT EVEN LIT UP!! /geekiness

Every time I see a tye dye shirt, I crank my neck and look to see if it's a Stang shirt. I think I even saw one in the hotel in Indiana that turned out not to be a Stang shirt. My count's at 15 non-Stang shirts.

when... okay, this'll be hard to "You know... when..." so I'm just going to tell a story.

So, I was having a bad week and my friends took me to a comedy-improv show to cheer me up. The comedy show does "shout outs" at the beginning on a large screen, with slides similar to "HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAYLA!" or "Erin is getting married tomarrow!".

Let me start out to say that all the friends there were from the [robotics] team and a mentor even came. Before the match, a guy working there was talking to us, and we somehow ended up teaching him the "OINK OINK-BOOM!" cheer. So when the show started, the last "shout out" was "And Katie is awesome!" (It was a bad week, like I said). After that slide, the next one was, "oink oink!" We all yelled "BOOM", and a few seconds later, the screen changed to "BOOM!".

So, You know you're overdosed on FIRST when you get a cheer on the screen before a comedy show.

For one of our REX members, it was his first year with the team even though he was a junior. So when we got our medals (only bronze this year), he wore his in school for a few days. But he was very tall and intimidating, so no one asked him why he was still wearing the medal:yikes:

Maybe it didn't fit any more? If it got wayyy too small, that could be an issue, but if the owner found the shirt too big, that's very easily remedied with a sewing machine.

He says no, hes on Wildstang, and you just about flip. you talk for robotics for a while, then go talk with another friend from camp. you talk about your conversation... ONLY TO LEARN HE COMES FROM WOBOT!!! then annother friend says he goes to the school the Thunder Chickens come from! I flipped out....... then confessed to bringing safety glasses and an allen [sp?] wrench set to camp............... teeheehee.......

I had a similar experience but not as awesome.:o I was at a christian leadership camp and as I was in our small group we were asked to say what our three most favorite things to do. My first one was robotics and one of the other kids asked if it was highs school robotics through first and i said yes and he replied with I'm on team 145 T'Rex. With that i told him that i was on team 1519 Mechanical MAYHEM and the kid next to me said that his older brother was on the same team as me. And whenever I wore a t-shirt from a competition, he asked me if it was good enough for his team to trek up north.

That was last year, and this year, i got T'Rex kid as a roommate and the MAYHEM sibling in my small group again.:]
