Yes, they will never end...

-Returning and IM-ing all the people you know to help you design and machine next years drive
-When someone asks "Where were you the past week?" They end up telling you to stop because you can't stop talking about everything that happened
-As soon as your crate gets back you immediatly open it and get your robot out
-As soon as the robot is out, start driving it around and push things with it
-When you hurry so fast to get to the pits you remember you left the operator badge back in your hotel on the 19th floor... (<---Ya, that was pretty stupid of me)
-You feel like your wearing safety goggles
-You start telling everyone about FIRST, and everyone thinks you are such a nerd (and you feel sorry cause they have no clue what they are missing)...
-You've been to a thread like this at least 5 times..
-When you wish you were an incomming freshman so you could spend 4 more years in FIRST
-You do your laudry and your closet is ORANGE

When you realize that you've worn a team button and a VCU button to your AP Euro exam.

And when you manage to get a rust stain from a t-slot nut on your team t-shirt.

And do it again for your other one.

And it was the same T-slot nut in two different loads a week apart.

And when in the heat of build season, the T-slot nut is pulled out of your pocket and is installed on the robot (while wearing the stained shirt!)

In terms of true overdose, perhaps my toomuchFIRSTtoolittlesleep-induced nap on Thursday during Championships behind the Archimedes field? Apparently I was out cold for 10 minutes or so, before 1610 woke me up. Thanks for that.

We have seen these, particularly in European "superstores" - there is an escalator for the shopping carts (does not create "steps" though, is just a moving belt) - the carts have powerful magnets on the wheels which engage when you move the cart to the belt. People take the regular escalators and meet their carts on the next floor to continue shopping :-)

This IS truly not funny - we are in the market for an enclosed trailer that we can use to haul our robot and maybe additional ones to off-season events, fundraisers, etc....the tools and all will fit inside our van, at least for now :)

You've got a couple teamates, who after nationals, have decided that they've had enough not having the camera working on the robot for two years, and have decided that it will be working by the time the summer is over.

You're headed to Japan tomorrow for a month and are trying to figure out how to make some time to go talk with some high schools about starting a FIRST team! :rolleyes:

Well I just finished my rookie year and I pretty much am a newbie...I must say that I completely agree with this thread...and I am tearing up from just reading it! I miss FIRST!

And I would just like to add:
It seems that the only thing you and your soon-to-be college roommate have in common is the fact that you're both on FIRST teams....and that's enough.

When you go to your college website and see a person's profile you ask "Hey, weren't you at nationals?" They reply with their team number, which field they played on and their record.

This is a true story. The other night I had a dream that I was at the 2006 IRI. The robot competition did not take place but instead there was an eating contest set up in the gym. I had to eat a whole table full of bacon. I was miffed because I had to compete by myself against other teams with a dozen members. I was looking for Andy Bacon, I mean Baker to complain.

The first thing you notice about your friends' driveway is the FIRST logo they started in chalk.

You have friends who spend most of their time writing the FIRST logo on their driveway.

Opening up any school notebook, you find at least a dozen sketches of the FIRST logo you drew when the teacher was going off topic and you didn't need to take notes.

You start having withdrawal symptoms when you don't see your FIRST friends (151, it's been AGES!!!)

You plan your social life around FIRST offseasons (Can't have my birthday party the same weekend as IRI in case by some miracle I can make it down there!)

-When the aforementioned team member also found out that Walmart is trying to Trademark the smile and you sent her a long email about the evils of corporate America (except for companies that sponsor teams) and about how you use the smile more than Walmart anyways.
-When you become naturally attracted to items of clothing, decorations, etc. in your team color when you never owned anything in that color before.

I've just discovered that the spell check doesn't recognize Walmart as a word... that's okay, they are evil anyways.

-When you research to find out what robotics team you could join when you move out to college.
-When you line your walls, ceiling, and doors (not just in your room) with all the stuff you have collected throughout your years in FIRST. :p

When you find yourself in this situation:
New team member (a friend of yours that was finally convinced to join) is trying to convince two other friends to join next year and another friend, a nonFIRSTer, complains that she isn't going to have any friends left who aren't in robotics (which is quite literally the truth)
