Nice Job! FIRST related assignments usually turn out really well, its an exciting competition that has good values at heart, so whatever the assignment is, you can't go wrong.

When you realize you have no life after the robotics season because you have nothing to do
When you look for local off season competitions so the season doesn't techinically have to end for you
When you go on a rampage at competition when they play another song right in the middle of sandstorm
When you try to come back to mentor after graduation because you don't want your robotics experience to end yet

When you can look someone in the eye, say you spent over 700 hours building a robot as a "hobby" while attending school and they ask "that's it?" followed by them adding up the time they spend at work and realizing they don't even get close to that.

When someone says you are crazy for spending so much time on one thing and you can't think of a better complement someone could have given you.

When people don't have to ask why your not having a good day. They know it is because you just got reminded the season is over.

Some more:

You get sick the day after the Michigan State Championship.

You have a dream about your robot.

You draw an incredibly detailed picture of your robot (my friend, who got every detail right down to the motor placement right).

You see three FTC robots on the FRC field trying to pick up balls and balance on the bridge and think it's the most adorable thing you've seen. Ever.

You start to think about what next year's game could be when this season's not over yet.

You start to think of possible offseason activities.

You tell your friends you got your shirt signed by Dean Kamen and freak out when they say they have no clue who he is.

You know exactly how many days, hours, and minutes until the Championship.

You see numbers (phone numbers, time, adresses, math problems) and all you can think about is what team that is.

You try to explain all the exciting things that happened at your most recent competition and your non-robotics friends just stare at you.

...when you are helping out with your band's rummage sale and you accidently ask the band director from across the room if you should get the robot

...when you have Cotton Eye Joe on you iPod because it reminds you of competition.

...when your weekend attire is composed of your practice day shirt and your competition shirt.

...when you spent the entire day [even at school] reading every reply to this thread and the majority of them are true about you.

...when you start writing reports on FIRST.

When you're actually wondering where to learn the famed Cotton Eye Joe dance that you don't recall seeing...perhaps it's because I spend so much time in the pits...

im on the drive team. i was never in the stands, yet i learned Cotton Eye Joe in the queue... while pushing the robot.

When 3 hours after your last regional you're already designing next year's chassis. :D

When your offseason consists of mentoring FLL and Botball teams until your team starts meeting again.

When you are known around school be literally EVERYBODY as the robotics kid.

When, no matter whom you're talking to, or what the conversation is about, you always manage to bring up robotics.

This is probably only relevant if you know what it's like to have one of the volunteer jobs where you need to wear a radio, but I'm a Volunteer Coordinator, so I'm counting this, as a similar story...

After Boston Regional this year (where I am VC and therefore constantly being called on the radio), I was trying to sleep after a very long, exhausting, fun weekend. I was drifting off, when suddenly, I jolt up, holding my hand to the spot on my shirt where I'd had my radio call button pinned all weekend.

"GO FOR LIBBY".

Apparently I'd been hearing the radios go off in my dream....

Needless to say, all the other volunteers that were sharing my hotel were cracking up laughing. It was a good moment.
