when you endure a horrible 19 hour trip back to your college 2 days before the dorms open and 6 days before classes start, JUST so you can be with the team for kickoff

-when you look down in first period and realize you're wearing your FIRST fleece over an andymark shirt.

-you don't look down until your best friend look at you and goes....'why,oh WHY are you such a nerd?!'
[all I have to say is, i hope she's kidding.]

-your chem teacher looks at the back of your AndyMark shirt and yells at you. when you explain that it's SHIFT, she takes a good minute to doublecheck.

-when your team gets kicked out of the room you were working in, some freshman complains 'you mean we have to shift rooms?' and you just say....'well, shift happens!'...and leave it at that.

I've done that AND made a rather odd noise that was some weird mix of two other words (nothing to do with robotics, but it was after a meeting and my brain was fried). It was funny enough without being in the middle of Wal-Mart.


You know you've OD'd when you get in (several) arguements about arm design viability in several different chat windows and manage not to get them mixed up.

When you've re-recorded your cell phone answering message to include something about robotics (because there isn't any reception in our workshop AT ALL).

When your bent 90 degrees back in the wrong direction on a tool chest half way under a robot with only 4 inches clearance and your head if at least 10. Thats me putting bumpers on at regionals

- when you and your team spend too much time making up a "FIRST system of measurement" which includes a build season, and a poof ball, and you intend to use it on upcoming tests.
