You go skiing and think you see a mask that says VEX and get really excited.
When the mask really says UVEX and you are still excited because that is the brand of your team's safety glasses.
When, while in a ski lesson, you think that the lean right to go left method of steering is just like driving a robot.

Is it time for regionals yet or what?

...you (and all of your friends) accidentally replace words with robotics equipment, tools, parts, etc on a daily basis... "by that point you should just get your LED..." (when talking about how many times a person...most likely in robotics... could fail high school)

...when you actually know what they are talking about...

...when you don't even notice someone has...

...when it takes multiple ppl to type 1 bloody forum...

...when you have to email yourself (as well as others) the information for chairmans award and e/o has about 6 copies of the EXACT same thing...

...when you live out of your school's library...

...when you take a trip (walking) to 7-11 for ice cream and come back with TWIX instead...

...when your friends (outside of robotics) understand EXACTLY what your talking about, no matter how confused you are at what you are trying to say...

...you live off DIBS for the entire build season...

...you can take attendance by noting hight differences of the members there...

... you are delirious past the point of being delirious...

...you can no longer spell words that you just typed...

...you type on this forum instead of working on chairmans award [[oops! lets not let our adviser hear about this...]]

...when you see a teammate playing neopets and get distracted for an hour [[ooh pretty colors!!!]] without being on any drugs...

.. when you've already got a pre-set, 5 paragraph formulated answer to a non-competing person's question of: "FIRST Competition? Is there a Second one or something? What's that?" (I have answered that Q soo many times!)

.. when rather than finding quarters in your wallet to buy a late-night snack from the very few vending machines at school, you find hex nuts instead (and if you're special, sometimes even the lock ones with nylon inserts)

.. when you play 'jokes' on other classmates at school by talking to other team members like so: " Amanda, you totally kept the strippers all night to yourself. You have to learn how to share" "Yeah, I had the strippers. I'll go out and buy you your own for tonight."

.. when all of your people on speed dial on your cellphone are FIRST-related (machinist, other teams' contacts, mentors, etc.)

.. when your cellphone background consists at least two of the following: FIRST logo, red/blue innertubes, a rack (your homemade one or elsewhere), or your robot itself

.. (for electronics) when zip ties and electrical tape become your best friends

.. when you're schedule usually revolves around your robotics worktimes/practices, and not the other way around

.. when you whip out your own personal safety goggles from your backpack during Chemistry (or any other science) class for labs, instead of using your school's provided uncomfortable ones

.. when you're pulled out of your Shakespeare english class by your Team Leader, so that you guys can order the Bimba cylinders in the morning rather than after school, and receive them ASAP!!

THIS JUST IN! No, really, it JUST happened.

You tell your friend sitting next to you about your regional schedule...[i have a regional, or at least the saturday, to go to every week but week 2]...

"I've decided I'm calling you Carmen SanDiego from now on."
"Why?"
"Because, for the next six weeks, just like the last six, I won't be able to find you"

...and they proceed to make up their own lyrics.

I'll post 'em later if i remember, they're pretty funny. For now, class is over.
