This reminds me of a time in 2005 when a mentor who made a food run pulled some cheese puff things out. Our teams founder, a 40+ y.o. lady saw them and her face immediately lit up and she said something to the effect of "Oooh, cheesy poofs!" and proceeded to, quite speedily, walk across the room and start to chow down. Doesn't seem so much now, but at the time I found it endlessly funny.

You know you're overdosed on FIRST when you see someone else from a team, no matter where, and proceed to freak out and try to get them to notice you. Yesterday I was in the middle of my 6 hours behind the wheel for my permit, and I saw a FIRST bumper sticker. I proceeded to switch lanes and pull up beside them to see if I recognized the person. I didn't, but they were wearing their VEX shirt from competition, which prompted me to talk FIRST to my driving instructor for about the next hour. He was scared when I switched lanes because he hadn't told me to do so, but he did complement me on how smoothly I did it! Which goes to show, FIRST improves EVERYTHING, including your driving!

And your friends can chime in on the discussion, even though they've never even seen a FIRST competition because you talk about it too much.

multiple times in this thread people have felt the need to point out other threads like it, yet people have continued to post more and more on this thread. If a thread remains active, lively, and has people posting, then there's no problem with it. After all, forums are for posting! So if people are posting, there's no issue :D

playing Wii with a new friend from Merrimack (hi Tiff!), playing that darts game where you have 301 points, and you have to knock it down to 0.

we compared every score at the end of a round and determined if it was a first team, and what team it was (i got a 151 my first round. Tiff hit 166 the next)

- When your teammates ask you for "the wrench," you know that they are referring to the 7/16" open wrench.
- You always carry keystock, calipers, and a USB drive full of CAD files in your purse.
- You can rattle off the category hierarchy for most common McMaster parts.
- You have a folder labeled "pr0n" that's full of pictures of robot drivetrains.
- You think you have dandruff, but it's just aluminum dust.
- You get really irritated when people ask you if you do Battlebots.
- When you don't have scissors around, the bandsaw works just fine.

-When 3/4 of your harddrive is full of first week matches broken down with notes on almost every robot as well as every rev of every update and manual released and a team picture of last year's robot and team as your desktop background.

-When you tape your spring break packing list to your wall and it only has one thing on it- safety glasses.
-When you spend Friday-Wednesday of spring break looking forward to being dragged out of bed at a really unreasonable hour and dropped of at the CT convention center at 7:30 am.
-When you try to figure out how you will follow one regional while volunteering at another.
