when you hear "thunderstruck" and you start cheering on your team, and get confused when you don't see your team (thunderhawks), or the thunder chickens or ANYTHING dealing with thunder

when you hear the macarena and you start yelling at people to show their spirit and dance..and you realize that you're not around people anymore

when you tell all your non robotics friends robotics inside jokes (SAMURAI! [btw, thanx to the crazy monkeys at BMR to use my samurai suggestion and for interviewing my pal, will...and explaining his life completely]) and then you realize they have no idea what you're talking about so you have to explain EVERYTHING

when you have your mentor call you by your CD name or team website name and you completely go unphased and act like he called you by your real name

-When discussing your friends, you have to refer to them by their CD names because, even though you talk to them more than your normal friends, you don't know their real names.
-You won the regional but your team was really excited by the team spirit award you got from another team. (thanks 399)
-You spend most of your time trying to get people in the world to understand why you won the regional with people.
-You also explain this to your local news who believes that you came in second because you were the second team on the alliance.
-You and the band count yourselves as sports teams because the sports teams in your school don't count.
-You spend lots of time trying to figure out what to do with FIRST when you get to college.
-You don't understand why FIRST isn't aired on TV.
-When vampire movies in your friends room with 5 other people is a social life.

-When you can't burn your scouting papers because you might need them some day. You don't know for what, but you have them from 2001.
-Senioritis + Chief Delphi = No one but you can ever get on the computer.

When you look down at your outfit before school and realize you are wearing: 4 buttons (3 from your team and a coach button), 2 necklaces from teams in Atlanta, your Tab shirt from the Coca Cola factory, the jeans that have been to every competition you've ever been to (and consequently have robot stains on them) and the shoes you wore when last year's robot nearly crushed your foot, plus your hotel key from Atlanta (which "followed you home") is in your pocket and 5 more buttons, 3 wristbands, 4 keychains, a map of Atlanta, and a list of autonomous modes are in your purse.

I miss Atlanta...badly... :(

Yes, they will never end...

-Returning and IM-ing all the people you know to help you design and machine next years drive
-When someone asks "Where were you the past week?" They end up telling you to stop because you can't stop talking about everything that happened
-As soon as your crate gets back you immediatly open it and get your robot out
-As soon as the robot is out, start driving it around and push things with it
-When you hurry so fast to get to the pits you remember you left the operator badge back in your hotel on the 19th floor... (<---Ya, that was pretty stupid of me)
-You feel like your wearing safety goggles
-You start telling everyone about FIRST, and everyone thinks you are such a nerd (and you feel sorry cause they have no clue what they are missing)...
-You've been to a thread like this at least 5 times..
-When you wish you were an incomming freshman so you could spend 4 more years in FIRST
-You do your laudry and your closet is ORANGE

When you realize that you've worn a team button and a VCU button to your AP Euro exam.

And when you manage to get a rust stain from a t-slot nut on your team t-shirt.

And do it again for your other one.

And it was the same T-slot nut in two different loads a week apart.

And when in the heat of build season, the T-slot nut is pulled out of your pocket and is installed on the robot (while wearing the stained shirt!)

In terms of true overdose, perhaps my toomuchFIRSTtoolittlesleep-induced nap on Thursday during Championships behind the Archimedes field? Apparently I was out cold for 10 minutes or so, before 1610 woke me up. Thanks for that.

...you REALLY can't wait for the river cleanup even though you know you will get terribly sunburned and probably tip your canoe numerous times, but you don't care because you'd do anything for your team...
